  1 - Immediate removal of all Governing Body members

  2 - Trial of all remaining members of the Governing Body for crimes against humanity due to the blood issue

  3 - Trial of all those who participated in and encouraged the development of the blood doctrine which has claimed the lives of thousands of Witnesses

  4- Trial of all those who participated in the obstruction of justice for those affected by child abuse and spouse abuse

  4 - A global class action lawsuit against the Watchtower for Monetary Compensation for all those who are or have been Jehovah's Witnesses

  5 - A thorough investigation of the Watchtower's money trail, accounting and finances

  6 - Restorative justice for all those who were wrongfully disfellowshipped

  7- An unequivocal apology for their false doctrines, teachings and prophecies

  Did you do very early morning field service?

  in my old congregation, there was a group of dubs who started field service at 4am - yes, that's 4 o'clock in the morning.

  i went with them on a few occasions.. to be ready, you'd have to be up at least 3:30am to get washed and dressed and maybe get a bite to eat.. at 4am, our designated driver would show up along with a couple of sleepy eyed jws trying to "get their time in.

  " many times we'd go pick up a jw only to find they forgot about service and overslept.. .

  In my old congregation, there was a group of dubs who started field service at 4am - yes, that's 4 o'clock in the morning. I went with them on a few occasions.

  To be ready, you'd have to be up at least 3:30am to get washed and dressed and maybe get a bite to eat.

  At 4am, our designated driver would show up along with a couple of sleepy eyed JWs trying to "get their time in." Many times we'd go pick up a JW only to find they forgot about service and overslept.

  You don't realize how much activity goes on in the wee hours of the morning till you've done early bird service.
  
  So who is up at 4am?

  For starters, we'd drive to the local hospital and leave literature in the reception area.

  We'd go to different gas stations and leave magazines with the attendants.

  We would even leave tracts at ATM machines

  By 7:30am, most laundromats would be open so this was easy work and a great way to lighten one's briefcase.

  By 8:00am, we were hungry, so we'd stop at a local eatery to refuel and leave a tract with the waiter to keep our time going.

  By 8:30am we would do street work until the main group for field service and then we'd go out with them and finish at 1pm.

  By 1pm I was too tired to do anything else for the rest of the day - but what a great way to get 8 hours of field service in!

  Does Genesis 19 condemn Homosexuality?

  there are many "proof" texts that people (including jws) use to justify their rejection of anyone that is gay.

  there are a few scriptures that you can pull up and try to make a case for show homosexuals why they are evil and wrong.. i've been researching more of these scriptures and i'm coming to some very different conclusions than many other christians hold, especially jws.

  i wanted to talk about the first text used by many people to condemn homosexual behaviour.

  Brotherdan,

  Abraham pleaded with God to spare Sodom if their were 10 righteous men found in the city. Clearly there were not, because God destroyed Sodom.
  
  It is disingenuous to say that the city was destroyed because of lack of hospitality.

  Genesis 19:4 "But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter"

  The scripture quoted above said the men of the city, from old to young surrounded Lot and his guests. This should tell you the mindset these individuals had. They acted as a mob.

  Does this account specifically mention homosexuality? No it doesn't, but it is implied, because the men of the city wanted to "know" Lot's guests. They didn't know Lot's guests were angels and they weren't interested in Lot's daughters.

  I would suggest that the city was destroyed because the majority of its inhabitants were not found righteous, rather than on the account of one specific behavior.

  You could compare this account to the account at Nineveh, described as a violent city and ponder why its inhabitants were given 40 days warning to repent whereas Sodom was given no warning.

  don't get me wrong, this isn't a call for help or anything like that.

  i'm not about to do anything stupid, just feeling a little down and exhausted tonight.

  i feel defeated, even though i don't feel as if i'm battling anything.

  I can relate 100% - I keep myself busy to pass the time. I have a couple of friends who are very supportive. I feel incredibly isolated at times and unfulfilled, but I keep going, I have to. You can to. We are all in this together.

  Wow, look at full scripture they quote...

  May parents and children "be firmly resolved not to eat the blood...that it may go well with you" because of having Jehovah's blessing and approval. Deut. 12:23-25

  23 But be sure you do not eat the blood, because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat. 24 You must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water. 25 Do not eat it, so that it may go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is right in the eyes of the LORD.

  They really are a cult in every sense of the word.

  i read that some are quite happy that another gb bites the dust.. i think of my "faithful" elderly jw mother who helped many many families come into the "truth".

  she's an intelligent woman.

  however, she's blinded by her beliefs (being in a cult).
