I think the article was very misleading.
Almost every JW has the equivalent of a college education just by reading the Awake! and Watchtower magazines.
:)
hope this works, i've never posted a link before.
interesting article on religion and personal income, not that any of it comes as much of a surprise.
i apologize if it's already been posted.. http://www.ktxs.com/news/28138610/detail.html.

often times, i read in the magazines that only among jehovahs people will you find true friendship.
Doubtful
The young people operate on a clique system. You're either in a certain social circle, or you're alone, very similar to High School life
I agree with you. Unless you have shared history with the youth, you'll always be on the outside looking in

I was born in the truth and had no close friends, not a single one all through my teen years. And it wasn't for lack of people my
own age. No one bothered with me. On the rare occasion I did happen to be among my peers, I felt like an outsider, wishing, hoping
that I could be part of their group. Weekends were often spent alone.

I thought this extract from the August 15 WT (Study Edition) was very telling...
Today, anyone with an Internet
connection can become a desktop professor,
pretending to be in the know, without even
revealing his name. And there are no rules
on who can publish ideas, information, images,
and suggestions.
Do not become an “Internet Eve.” Be critical
and suspicious of the information. Before
trusting it, ask: (1) Who published this
material? What are the author’s credentials?
(2) Whywas this published? What motivated
the writer? Is there any bias? (3) Where
did the author get the information? Does he
supply sources that can be checked? (4) Is
the information current? In the first century,
the apostle Paul gave Timothy advice that
applies with equal force today. Paul wrote:
“Guard what is laid up in trust with you,
turning away from the empty speeches that
violate what is holy and from the contradictions
of the falsely called ‘knowledge.’”
—1 Tim. 6:20.
Watchtower tells every JW to be critical of anything not written by them.
How well these words apply to the editors of the Watchtower magazine.
christianity was birthed in a polytheistic world, inheriting from jewish roots the concept of one g-d. now, instead of one god for israel, we are offered one god for the whole world.
caesar (mortal men) was declared a god.
gods had powers beyond ordinary men, could grant requests, and demanded sacrifice and worship.
at one time, it seemed that the majority of those leaving, were young ones brought up in the cult.. from what i can see now (at least on here), there seems to be a high number of 20+ baptised members years leaving.. has this always been the case?
it might be i just didn't notice from my parochial view from the kingdom hall!.
or are there really more long standing jw's leaving now, than ever before?.
The dynamics have really changed haven't they? Back in the '90s, few had access to the internet, then technology and broadband got cheaper and faster in the 2000s, now almost everyone has a smartphone with web access.
There will be no excuse not to be informed this decade because the web is everywhere...
.
hell is pretty much out of vogue these days so if this rabid atheist decidedly turns his back on god and/or christ what will become of me?.
If people reject Jesus that is your free will choice. No one is going to force anyone to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, but there is only one outcome for those who reject him.

This is interesting.......
Our Creator is more female than male in attributes. The term "Father" means a title or form of address that pertains
to headship. The secret to Father's female side is within the word of Christ. Father is a jealous God. Like a human
female Father has the same quality though it reveals her anger. All things possessed by all of Her intelligent
creations are attributes that have come directly from Father's own internal makeup. Please keep this in mind.
Michael who was created by the hand of Father is personified in Her male attribute. Yet Father maintained Her
female side by creating Her only begotten Son, Michael the Word. Father's wisdom is that of a woman's
nature, for Father Herself is nature. All of the things you view in creation are from Father's storehouse of energy.
Michael used the raw energy Father provided him with to create all else in existence. Within that raw energy are the
attributes of nature, which is the attributes of Father's divine makeup. Even the animal kingdom has Father's
attributes. Animals experience all sorts of emotions from jealousy, sadness to anger. They can also feel excitement
and happiness. These things all come from the Mother of creation.
