No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?
by respectful_observer inapologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.
some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.
anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.

The Society never does anything that will benefit the "friends", they are reactionary, so you can bet that they can no longer afford the expense of the yearly conventions and/or the friends are not obeying the slave's direction to go all three days and stay in the recommended hotels.

Is it okay for a JW to handle blood in a medical place of work?
by trailerfitter inhi everyone, i am curious to the stance and opinions of those who are in the know.
my jw partner (we are seperated) applied for and got a job in a hospital working as a phlebotomist,.. odd i thought at first.
as i am aware they collect blood samples and deliver blood to wards for a sister (uk senior nurse term) for administration to patients.

I know a brother who worked as a nurse and refused to administer any blood transfusion. He asked to be transferred to another department. One can't help but think that if you train as a nurse, you will encouter some "conscience matters" along the way.

Pastor uses Sparlock video in sermon
by truthseeker ini showed our pastor the link to the sparlock video and the following week, he speicifically mentioned the jehovah's witnesses have produced a dvd about a boy who plays with a magical toy and his mother asked the boy if he wanted to please jehovah or satan.. the pastor commented that the way the mother behaved destroys the imagination of a child and that god's love is conditional..

this was proved in a court of law in 1922. one of the key people involved in this was frank goldman who later became president of b'nai b'rith.
