What if you had reward points saved up and could get free nights at a hotel not on the list. Would this be looked down upon?

Do you think not having the book study in private homes has had much effect?
by truthseeker init's been a few years since the organization ended the book study arrangement in private homes.. gone was the last opportunity to have tea and biscuits and a natter with the friends afterwards.. do you think people regret losing the book study?
for some, it may have been the only time they were able to get some "associaton".

You're probably right there.
I supposed I was thinking more of the older ones who don't get out much. For them, the book study was the only place to have some social life.

he said the end must be close because people are so discouraged that the organization can't last more than 10 years.

Magnum,
I enjoyed reading your post. You've hit the nail on the head.
The organization is quite a different place to be when you compare it with that even in the mid 90s.
The quality of meetings has gone down and there is nothing to look forward to but more of the same.
I see grown men and women constantly being asked every year about how to prepare for the district convention, what size lunch cooler to bring, what hotels to stay in, where to eat, what to wear.
People are being dumbed down. They don't care what they're taught as long as they sit through it and make the odd comment here and there.

Has a critical mass of exJWs been reached?
by truthseeker init took the better part of 15 years but i believe we have finally arrived at that point where there is now a critical mass of former witnesses.. thousands of exjws come together on forums like this one and discuss findings, ideas and research.
there have been documentaries and even a movie made about life in the jehovah's witnesses.. ex jw websites, online forums, and discussion boards that set the wheels in motion in the early to late 90s have matured into powerful tools of social change within the organization.. the lies and false doctines taught by the watchtower bible & tract society are plainly accessible with just a cursory google search.. active elders leak boe letters, often weeks before they hit the notice board in a kingdom hall.. social media has allowed exjws to connect with those still in as well as those who have left.. the society have no game plan because information is power and they have lost the information war.
all they can do is cry wolf and warn the rank and file not to listen to apostates.. i don't know what future the society will face in the next ten years, but changing world events, social trends, and reactionary change from headquarters based on their own faulty biblical chronology has got them cornered like a raging animal.. it doesn't look good..

I'm not so sure the WT will go on for hundreds of years before a split and the reason is that so much is demanded of the rank and file that they barely have time to themselves once work, meetings, and ministry is taken into account.
The organization demands so much and there is nothing about what they do that creates friendships between people at the Hall.
Most churches have some form of community gatherings, even if it's just a meal.
The Watchtower has NOTHING sponsored in the way of community meals, day trips for the elderly, youth groups etc. They have nothing.
People need to feel wanted and part of something. We are, for the most part, social creatures. The Watchtower does not fill the void in people's social lives. That, coupled with "expectation postponed is making the heart sick" is enough to dampen their zeal.
Will they be around in 10 years? Sure, but the quality of witnessing and the meetings is very dumbed down.
They have nothing to look forward to.

Have as anyone heard of Jordan Maxwell?
His seminars are quite good. This one is on astrotheology, he looks at the symbols that different religions have in common.

Anthony Morris and Disneyland "the Magic Kingdom"
by trujw inin his talk the turd said disneland is ok cause he took his kids there.
isn't disneyland known as "the magic kingdom" why in the world is it ok to go to a magic kingdom of fantasy and make believe with wizards but a kid playing with a stupid wizard toy makes jehovah sad.
how can the turd be ok with thousands of magical toys and rides but at the exact same time tell them to throw those same toys in the trash.
