I was thinking after hearing about the AGM cutbacks to the mags and other website content surely they will end up dismissing more Bethelites? I would have thought in the old days, before the web, an artist or writer at Bethel would have been a full time job making content for four 32 page mags a month. Now what are these guys going to do?

In my hometown of Bognor Regis some sisters spend their mornings sitting on a bench on the high street with their literature cart. I've known one sister since I was a child and went up to her and said I didn't want to miss the opportunity to say hi. I said I know you're not allowed to talk to me. She said, yes, I know what you mean. They know I'm an apostate in Bognor Regis.

Writing a book on Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses - suggestions welcome
by truthseeker inso i finally decided to start writing a book on exiting jehovah's witnesses.
i've been meaning to do this for a very long time.
there are so many books out there and i don't want to repeat what everyone else has written.. although the book will include some basic history of jehovah's witnesses and the usual doctrinal flaws, it's core audience are those who are thinking about leaving, in the process of leaving or have already left.. the book will contain case studies of people who've left and made a success of their life.

Thank you for your comments. I will definitely take them to heart. There are so many complicated situations witnesses who want to leave find themselves in.

Hello all,
So I finally decided to start writing a book on exiting Jehovah's Witnesses. I've been meaning to do this for a very long time. There are so many books out there and I don't want to repeat what everyone else has written.
Although the book will include some basic history of Jehovah's Witnesses and the usual doctrinal flaws, it's core audience are those who are thinking about leaving, in the process of leaving or have already left.
The book will contain case studies of people who've left and made a success of their life. Some who have already left have written to me giving permission to use their success story as a case study.
If you would like to submit your success story, I would be glad to accept it, though due to the book size there are limitations on how many case studies I can include. I will not use your real name unless you specifically say otherwise.
The book will focus on different types of situations that leavers find themselves in:
1) A teenager living at home with witness parents who knows the truth is a lie and wants out
2) The married elder who has woken up but must go through the motions of living "the truth"
3) A wife who has woken up and all her family is in the truth
4) Fence sitters who aren't quite sure what to do
5) Those considering reinstatement to maintain family ties and friendships

Cofty,
I was at this Smithsonian museum last month and saw the Human Origins exhibit. There's no denying that the skulls staring back at me were hundreds of thousands of years older than the Biblical Adam.
Having said that, from my own studies and research I am of the opinion that human development may have been interfered with at some point in the distant past but these are my own beliefs and have nothing to do with the scriptures.

What actually happened AFTER Jesus zoomed up into the clouds and disappeared?
by TerryWalstrom inwhat happened after jesus zoomed up into the sky?for a while, he was expected to return rather quickly.in the meantime, there was the “great commission” and evangelism to be tended to.. the jesus believers were meeting in people's homes.
members of that community would take turns using private homes to gather.
thus, they went house to house.. these footstep tracers of jesus (they called themselves akolouthontes "followers" or some called themselves mathetai or "learners.

Terry,
Thanks for an interesting topic!
Here are three scriptural quotes which put things into perspective about the never ending wait for the Lord's return
2 Peter 3: "For YOU know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: “Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.”
The ridiculers and the ridiculed have been dead almost 2,000 years.
John 21:20-23 "Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”) 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?” Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
Jesus' apostle, whom he loved, has been dead almost 2,000 years
Revelation 22:12 says ""Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done."
He never came back. This verse was written almost 2,000 years ago.
