I work in a hospital and people com in for that a lot and yet I never saw a single case. The doctors that I talk to tell me that only people who are immunosuppressed are really in danger. Healthy people may get it and never even know it because the body just fights it like any other virus. Birds are the carriers though so if you see dead birds keep away report it to the proper authorities and get inside.

Conflicts in the mind
by JH in.
do you have an inner voice inside of you that opposes what you think about the jehovah witnesses?.
in other words, is there a part of you that will always be a jehovah witness, and a part of you that will always hate them?

i dont hate JW's but I do hate that religion and every other but especially this one because I feel like it robbed me of having a normal childhood and there is nothing that I can do to get that back.

maybe I am paranoid...
by Azalo indoes anyone know if there are spies who monitor these boards?
has anyone unintentionally "outed" themselves solely by posting on these boards?
i have been out for over 7 years now but my family is still in and i am afraid of giving too many details about myself for fear that someone will inform them.

They still have hope that I will one day "see the light" and if they knew that I post here they would surely shun me ( they have threatened to do it before, sent a letter "Dear John" to me and everything).

Did you leave the Borg 'in search of truth' or 'freedom from rules'?
by BLISSISIGNORANCE inthis question is not to offend anyone, it's just that i have noticed people have many different reasons for leaving the borg and i thought it would be interesting to find out why some of you left.. for example:some leave because they want to be free to smoke, drink, gamble, fornicate, grow beards, celebrate xmas, take blood and drugs, etc.some leave because they never believed and now are old enough to do as they want.some leave because they have seen that they can be happy living life free from any religious organization, yet still feel safe in god's love.some have been hurt by the borg and have taken their wounds away to lick them, waiting to see justice.some have trusted the borg with their lives, time and money...........only to discover recently that there has been lies, cover-ups and hypocracy in the borg.
now they have left but need to belong to another organization to feel happy.. i left the borg because i found out about the cover-ups and lies.
my family was abused by it, my child was sexually abused and i was df'ed.

I left because I realized that I didnt really believe in waht I was taught my whole life and beyond that Iidnt believe in religion at all and had no spiritual inklings whatsover. It wasn't until later that I realized all of the contradictions in the organization. Although, from as long as I can remember I was always bothered by the expression "the truth"; so much so that I can say with all honesty that throughout the 17 years (from my birth until I left) that I considered myself a JW I never uttered that expression. (in the context that most JW's do anyway)

Post A Message To The Troops
by DakotaRed inregardless of where any stand on the upcoming war, all have said they support the troops.
here is a chance to show that support.
this site is a board strictly for messages to the troops.

I am in the US military and I fully support anyone's right not to support this war and protest it and say whatever they want about it, That is their RIGHT. I dont support the war myself but I volunteered to serve so until my enlistment is up I will do what I am told. I think people should be more tolerant of evryone's views and opinions.

this is about the only date my parents still try to get me to go to. No way. mostly cause i tihink its stupid and i dont want to give them false hope. going off on a tangent though wasn't it funny how people would look around to see who was going to partake and then there would be a rumor mill over whether or not people believed that person. and wasn't it weird how there were quite a few "annointed" who weren't even elders or MS.
when i was a kid i liked it cause a bunch of us would always go eat afterwards and my parents would ussuanly let me miss school the next day since it was our only "holiday"

are JW's classist?
by Azalo inis it just coincidence or do jw's seem to prefer members to be of at least middle class standing.
i cant think of one brother who had to struggle to make ends meet who became an elder or ms. in fact it seems like those ones were often viewed as weak.
any thoughts?
