this thread is similarly purposed to this one on the jeremiah book.. i intend it as a source for material and comments relating to the new imitate their faith book that came out at the 2013 wt district convention.. eventually, the book is going to be studied at the congregation book study.

Anyway, I too have also prayed to Jesus my whole life and still will. We have also had similiar incidents when we cornered our JW bible study friend. I don't remember his exact words because he went around the question and I lost interest.
I will listen better next time so I can accurately post to these questions.

i can't recall the official statement from the wts regarding jws making jw sites (jwfacts may have a good knowledge of it), but i was under the impression their official stance was "don't.".

Believe me, I have my guard up. If I don't understand then I will ask and do my own research. I apologize. Not all religions think they are it... Most I have talked to seem to think that way. We had baptist pastors in our house a lil while back and they started right off on their belief's. A church of God I went to a few years ago did not believe their way was the only way... Sometimes my words don't come out right. Again, I do apologize.
We had a heavy discussion this past Saturday about the chosen, tribulation, etc. I have 2 who have bible study with us and they both over and over agin skirted my questions. Was kind of funny but also irritating. I am very careful what I believe, always have been but it doesnt hurt to learn, right? I know I will be baptized but I really dont think by JW's. I will get baptized into Christ and not into a denomination.

for full disclosure, i did not personally go to the convention on the day of the talk, but am going on my wife's recollection and her thorough notes.. when she got home, i asked her about the part and what was said, point by point from the beginning of the talk.
i then mentioned this point (lifted from the other thread ):.
"for instance, in one country a news report instigated by apostates falsely stated that jehovahs witnesses supported hitlers regime during world war two.
I went to the convention this past weekend (July 26-28) Double checked my notes and they did not say anything about Hitler (either way) or anything about medical treatment and believe me, being new to the JW studies, I scribbled as fast as my hands could go.

Im not sure how what to think. I was curious to hear. In a way I understand but they took it to a whole new level. All religions think their ways are the "only" way but I have found fault in all. The way they talked made a human apostate sound like spoiled rotten children who wanted their way and didnt get it so they want to throw temper tantrums and not listen to their parents. OR when children break something and say, not me. Do we, as parents, get rid of our children because of that? No. We were all in some aspect raised differently so we all have a difference in opinions or ways. Doesn't necessarily mean its wrong. If all the geniuses of our world didnt use some of their own thoughts (that they were TOLD not to), then we wouldn't have the comforts, med., etc that we have today.
I didnt like the words thye used to describe apostates... spiritual sickness, infection, poison, bitter, deceptive, two faced.....
To be honest, I was kind of glad it was a short symposium. When it all comes down to it, it is what is in our hearts... Our true hearts, minds and actions.

They handed out a new video "Prodigal Returns" They were very limited on copies. I will try to get you a copy (Have not had the opportunity to see it yet but I heard it is good)
Also, I would love the Oct. 2013 KOM. I saw it being handed out last night at our meeting last night. Im not "in the Truth" enough to be handed my own copy... but they have no problem with me printing a copy for preparation of studies? Go figure

"How to be Happy in Life" is not available yet. When it becomes available, it will be available in e-pub format for a while... Will be closer to the end of the year. I have a copy of the "My First Bible Lesson" It is really cute. I also have extra of the first 5 tracts Joshua listed. 'Imitate their Faith " book is a larger paper back (ex: Bearing witness) I do have that one also... As I previously posted, my convention was last weekend. I did enjoy it but a long 3 days
i am fairly new to learning the truth with jehovah's witnesses.
we have been having 2 home bible studies a week for over 4 months now and we started going to the kingdom hall 3+ months now.
i am enjoying my studies and the brothers and sisters are wonderful .
I am still here. Yes, I have been told it's best not to read any other publications or go to any other websites but I like this one You are so very truthful, good or bad There is alot of things I question and will definately do research. (I was raised Catholic but have been non-denominational for over 25 yrs)In reply to letting them in: They came back, were not pushy, had a very kind honest look on their face, etc. We started bible study once a week, but we requested a second one each week. We also go to the Jeremiah/School on Tuesday nights to study JW more and we go Sunday afternoon to learn more of the Bible. This week I am learning about the overseers (Brother Miller) visits. It is also kindof crazy next 2 weeks because our convention is next Fri, etc. Im excited to see what it is about. Guess we're lucky because the Nutter Center (Dayton, OH) is only appx 15 min drive from us. Lord willing, I will be able to make it but each day is LONG and some of us have many physical ailments. Hope I answered everyone Thank you very much for welcoming me here and the links to websites to check ( I also have the green hardback "Jehovah Witness Proclaimers of God's Kingdom" book to study). BTW, the mysticalwolf has been my e-mail for yrs... my boys all have wolfie e-mails too lol
