  i used to be very impressed with convention experiences regarding how worldly employers would hire jws because they were known as the most honest workers.

  i was too indoctrinated to realise these were selective experiences, and there are plenty of experiences of jws being dishonest in the workforce.

  i have received a couple recently by email.. i have cut quite a bit out of the following email i received so that the person and company cannot be indentified, but you will get the message.. .

  Hi,

  You must remember...."They put God's Kingdom first". Most of them become teachers so they'll have alot of days off. I think this religion appeals to some of those who really don't want to work in the first place. How many have heard, could you simplyfy your life & go into full-time ministry ? For some that's LSD for them, stop working, just go out door to door, wow, that seems like a good idea. But they don't count the cost & believe the congregation will support them. There are bad employees everywhere...JW's need alot of time off, & think they are supposed to get it, in the name of religion. They may have just started a job & will go in the bosses office & say, now just letting you know when I HAVE to take off. Not even thinking when you first get a job you have to prove yourself first.

  When I go out in service on Saturday, I hear how many went out in service during the week, it's amazing how many don't work. If they do they work part time & always ask me if I know of a job, I saw well, you can go to temp agencies, they say, well, I'm just looking for something part-time. Yet they complain how everything is expensive. Today's economy you can't buy full-time stuff on part-time money. But what I notice most of the friends in my congregation have houses...Go figure...well that's my 2 cents...

  Have you seen witnesses texting during meetings?

  i was dragged to the hall last sunday and wendsday and this woman infront of me was using her phone for the study articles and when we were getting up to do a song i saw her quickly sending a text, which shocked me because i know they dont allow that.

  are the jws getting more and more leniant?.

  Brilliant....I do remember those KM's. As on said on this topic, they behave for a week & go back to doing just what they want. We are told what & when to do things...I think some listen & some don't...what is good today is bad tomorrow & what is bad today is good tomorrow...just like the Truth, what was false is not true & what was true is now false & they are the only Society that can get away with doing gymnastics....the flip flop of the meaning of the scriptures.

  Hi,

  I think about this all the time...suppose there is no God...then I feel lost, the hope that he does exist I think gives us all some type of comfort, yet, why so much suffering. He has the power to prevent, yet when his son was on the stake/cross, he didn't save his own son. When I think God exist then I get sad, because why doesn't he step in, but maybe he does & we don't recognize it. To think we are praying & there is no one to answer....

  The best question to ask is...why did he make humans in the first place...just to watch a show or something. I think of my parents, they try to prevent, protect & provide for me & that reminds me of God, but when you read the OT, he killed alot of folks..if I didn't obey my folks, would they kill me, if I turned to others as my parents would my parents kill me...ummm

  Hi,

  How many reminders do we get at assemblies, conventions, & from the platform. What's that scripture that says, if one looks in the mirror to check themselves & forget what they see...Don't gossip, don't do this or that, but what happens, they do it anyway, but if a witness see's you do it, they say, We are not supposed to do such & such...We even get reminders to be nice, how many times must that be said...I figure either you are nice or not. When you are growing up, your parents remind of certain things, then you are on your own....when you are grown, do your parents still have to remind you to take your umbrella & rainboots ? When does it sink in...if ever. When men can't control themselves they make rules for others, not themselves...Just a thought...

  I remember a person commented on this site, a person would be nice if they were a JW or not a JW. A person would be mean spirited in or out...

  No texting...but the world is addicted to it, so it's a train you can't stop. Remember when they said no electronics from the platform & what are they doing, using them on the platform..'nuf said...

  there's a lot of talk right now about how stupid it is to have jws hand out leaflets with urls on them.

  "why go to someone's door to tell them they can visit a web site that lets them ask for someone to come to their door?

  Hi,

  Sooo true....I now look at it differently. When you go door to door, you don't always get the smartest person, some are social misfits, or shut-ins. I do have in my congregation some pretty intelligent folks, with degrees & such. Wonder what attracted them to the Truff...Apro..., excellent view.

  Hi,

  I sure do, but when you text them & don't get back to you (when you are not in meetings), they always have some lame excuse why they didn't get back to you. I go out in service & they are checking their phones all the time. But when you text them, & they claim they never saw you text...Oh sure... Yet we hear from the platform, make sure you are turn off your electronic devices at the meetings, & out in service, assemblies & conventions...Now, if you are a witness & most of us or them associate with other witnesses, who are they text'in? Most are out in service or at a meeting too, & if not & they should know that whoever is texting their schedule...So, what comes to mind are 2 things, witnesses can tell you what to do, yet not do it themselves & they have association with folks that ain't in the truth...& they don't know when they are at a meeting, so that also lends to the fact that when they are not at meetings, they are not always sick..but associating with non-JW's..

  That's just my opinion..

  Can anyone disprove 607 BCE date using only the NWT and WT literature?

  i haven't come across any arguement that does not involve secular history and external references.

  in fact the wt can not get to 607 bce without using external sources as in knowing that they need to get back from 1914 ce to 607 bce, and botching an argument using an external date as reference to create their start point at 537 bce.. i realize that to get the final date we must provide a fixed figure from somewhere which can only be a historical source, but the objective would be to disprove the wt flim flam.

  once that is achieve we can use which ever fixed historical point they wish to chose.

  Hi,

  I have old editions of the encylcopedia's that my Mom bought for me way way back....I'm a baby boomer..1950's & up...& they say a different date, 586 or something like that...they are very old editions...now, I have seen in WT literature that they quote from the Encyclopodia's when they want to make a point that they researched the subject. That's that only proof I have.

  Guess that is secular, uh ? But I could defend myself by saying, I'm just quoting what the encyclopedia is saying, & if I'm not mistaken you do too...

  Hi,

  I was shocked that they had a black man in the same prison hole with Joseph..Afro & earring...The art department is getting diversified. When I first came to the truth or the truth as the society sees it...it looked like the 144,000 were all one race & men/caucasian. So not to be mean, but that would be the same set-up as on earth, White men ruling things..so what's the sense in coming back after death if we still gonna be ruled by the same fortune 500 companies...John Paul Getty's, Rockefeller's , you get the picture...so sad, we all see in the color we are....

  I pointed this out to a sister, she says, she didn't even notice it...yet, she don't like black men & she is hereself...You really can't make this stuff up.

  "Witness to Murder" an upcoming program on US TV about a JW family will air August 20th...

  i was informed yesterday that a us cable tv channel named investigation discovery will be broadcasting a 7-part series named "deadly devotion.

  " one program in the series is "witness to murder" which will air wednesday evening, august 20th, probably at 9 p.m. est.

  check the schedule on the internet which lists the date and time of broadcast two-weeks ahead.

  Hi Barbara,

  Well every other religion has been exposed & The Org. seems to be made of teflon. Even when the Catholic religion was exposed, some stayed some left. Not sure how anyone can expose them. I've heard so many things on this site & others & yet they still rise. It seems the congregations won't believe what they hear, because to them it's God's org. That is the badge of honor. Then they answer..well it's God's org, but run by imperfect men...Sorry excuse for misleading many. They claim they are guided by the Holy Spirit, now one of two things are happening here...1) The Holy Spirit is speaking in tongues 2) The FDS's need a hearing aide or last...the Holy Spirit ain't saying a darn thing to them. If someone is giving you directions or telling you something, did they mis hear ( I made up this word LOL). I never thought it was God's org. I got baptized because I saw that the friends were just like me...Messed up...but what happened is that they lead me to the Truth of what the bible really teaches, not what they teach...since it's an open book test, the answers are right there in the Bible not their literature...I won't say good luck but I'll say this...Go on with your BAD self..LOL...

  Will the JW.Org Site make a difference ?

  it will obviously make a difference to how jw's obtain their literatrash, they will have to download and print it all themselves before long.. it will make a small difference to the dtod work, they will now refer even genuine questions and interest etc to the site, not taking the opportunity to "witness" on the initial call at all.

  this has been happening already to a degree.. the difference i am mainly interested in is the capture of new suckers in to the borg.. we will be able to see when we get 2014's figures, sometime next year, what the rate of increase was over the last ten years.. phizzy the prophet predicts that the rate of increase over the next ten years will not be significantly up.

  probably down, but certainly, i feel, not so different from the last ten.. should i be around in ten years to do so, i will wish to ask jw's:.
