that's one of the most interesting beetles I've seen. Look at the feathering on the antennae. Almost like something you'd see on a more aquatic insect. Very odd. I don't think we have the same bugs down here as you do across the pond.

Changing of the Guard

my mother attended the funeral of an elderly jw recently.

the person that passed away was in her 90's had been a jw since the 1930's and her late husband was one of the "annointed" although she didn't claim that for herself.

every few months i hear of old jws passing away.

The Police vs. Sting

in the late late 70's and early early 80's the police where absolutly the s**t. they were the coolest new wave rock band back in the day.

thier sond was so cool with a slight punky newwave power pop fuesed with white reagge big complex cords played sparingly with a lot of space and with a trippy corrus-flange-echo guitar sound a ballsy bass lead and really wired out energetic hypnotic poly-rythatic drumming thier sound was never matched.

sting on the otherhand since his revolt from his former mates his sound fluffy sentemental pop rubbish.

Sting showed he had some guts when he made Soul Cages. I think he might have another one like that in him.

Organized Mail-Outs To The Society.

what would everyone think about flooding the society once a week, for as long as it takes about their bloodguilty actions in regard to their sexual abuse coverup?

if you were to think about it.... getting 500 letters from individuals every week would certainly get their attention, would it not?.

obviously, there would be many details to be worked out... i think that a generic letter, that you could cut, paste, and print out would be excellent.

A letter writing campaign to the JWs would have no effect at all (unless maybe a majority of active JWs also write letters, but that isn't going to happen and everyone knows it isn't.) Press attention and direct legal action seem to have a shot of having some affect though.

In their own methods, which are somewhat different from silentlambs, I think the AJWRB was able to have some affect about the blood issue, even though the WTS made a hidden reply to them in one of their magazines about their being "no reform" of god's society on earth.

When Jehovah gets verbal

have you noticed jehovah never speaks to the jws (until they are leaving the watchtower) but the devil is constantly verbal?

they have a doubt "oh its the devil telling me to doubt the borg".

they are tempted by the flesh "oh its the devil telling me to yank my...".

I had a feelign god was telling me to go play golf instead of going out in service a few times, but that was the only time he got verbal with me as a JW.

JW relationship with a Study?

i'm currently taking book study and still am not sure about completely pursuing the religion, but am openly analyzing what i am learning.

i am currently dating a jw... my question is how is it looked upon when a jw dates a "study" ?

is it allowed by the elders or will he be shunned?

My mistake. I thought HE was conducting the study. I should read more closely, next time. I don't think he'd be officially shunned (or disfellowshipped) for dating you, however he would most likely loose any "priviledges" he has in the congregation, and he may be considered "Bad association" by some. Its an informal way to shun people without going through all the red tape.

Witnesses are not supposed to date non-baptized persons (meaning persons who are not baptized by the JW's themselves).

Not to mention the ethical problems of dating someone who is trying to convert you. Do you want someone to have that kind of leverage on you? I'd get the hell out of that kind of scene, but fast.
