Paradise Earth

i'm new here (not a baptized jw) and was just wondering about those in here who are against the jws.

does it mean you no longer wish to live in the kingdom that jesus christ preached about -- the paradise earth conditions before adam and eve sinned?.

... does it mean you all now believe what christendom teaches about the future -- heaven & hell?

I have to say your posts upset me, not for myself but for you. God loves us all. Nothing we do will give us salvation. Through the Holy Spirit we change and then do good works. Sinning is a struggle each and every day for all of us. As for the end times, who knows when that will happen. Next year, in a hundred, a thousand years, no one knows but God. We don’t need to worry about the time. I trust and believe in God. He is in charge. The church I attend is accepting of everyone. We are all at different stages of spiritual growth. In a sense I’m still a toddler. No question is too stupid, (God knows what we’re thinking anyway - who are we trying to kid) and the fellowship is wonderful. We laugh, and we also cry if someone is going through pain (this is a womens group) and we support each other through it. When I questioned if Jesus was real a few years ago I quit going to church for quite a while. They patiently prayed for me (I never knew this till recently) I studied on my own because I so wanted the truth (I even looked into the JW faith - but found it to be wrong - compare the King James to the New World Translations - they are very different) and finally I can say that I believe and trust in God. My life has changed so much (yes I still have my struggles but it’s much easier to bear) Please don’t belittle other peoples beliefs. You both sound very young and very angry. Hopefully you will both stay and realize that there are many good (not evil) people on this board

How about as the ending: the realization that they were actually in hell. Their fate for eternity was to burn all the emptied bodies, their souls had gone to heaven.

I remember seeing this before. When I get off line I'll have to read it again - or maybe I shouldn't - it's just rubish anyway. Unless I'm wrong aren't the birds eating all the people (everyone but the JW's) that weren't saved?

Need help with the Trinity

i have been talking to a coworker of mine about religion and it's been rather interesting; it involves accepting christ into your heart as your saviour.

another thing is the trinity.. is there anything that any of you have found in the bible based on these beliefs.

i keep reading scriptures about god being one, and christ his son but then my coworker insists they are one in the same.. how, if anyway.

I’m not here to convince anyone on the Trinity. I believe only the Holy Spirit can do that. I don’t believe we as human beings can truly comprehend the Trinity. I did study it on my own. I prayed about it; please show me what the truth is. I have the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible and that really helped me. There is so much evidence. This is only a small list. I’ve only mentioned here of Jesus being part of the Trinity and not the Holy Spirit. One book I’m reading at the moment is Immanuel (experiencing Jesus as Man and God) by John A. Witmer. Hope this helps.

The bible clearly teaches that there is only one God. Trinity: Three persons - God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are equally and eternally God, but that each is distinct.

There is only one God

So many lonely people

with 6 quatrillion people on this planet why are there so many lonely people desperately searching for someone to love?

with cities crowded with people, why is it that finding someone to love would be so hard?

there are more and more single people as time passes.

I really enjoy being with people, but I have always enjoyed being by myself too (except when I'm depressed ofcourse). If I'm alone I'll read a book, listen to any music I want to hear, create something: there really is so much to do. I really need those moments just to be quiet because life can be so hectic. I left my husband 6 months ago and now I never feel lonely. I was painfully lonely while I was with him. He's not a horrible person but he doesn't want, or is unable to have a meaningful relationship. I have to ask him to take our daughter out sometimes because she needs to know that her father loves her. She just beams after she has seen him. I have good friends and I adore my two children and three brothers - that helps a lot. If I'm really down all I have to do is call my oldest brother (long distance-Texas) I know I'm having a little pity party by myself (and tomorrow will be another day) but I have to talk it through and I always feel better. Anyway I have to go and get ready for my company tonight. Have a great day everyone!

Please allow me to vent for a while. Both my parents are staunch JW for about 30 yrs. I have never been, and thankfully neither my three brothers. I did look into it a few years ago just to make sure if it was the truth. ( I have to admit though it scared me - I mean what if they were the truth). But I found that the more I looked into it the farther from the truth I thought they were. I do feel a lot of sadness for them. I have made a commitment to myself to keep in touch with my parents. My dad is 82 so I don’t want to have any regrets when he passes away. I do love my parents but I find it very difficult to have a relationship with them. I try to phone at least every other week, but after talking to my mother it takes me a while to get back to normal. I feel drained. Everything she talks about is the negative side of life and I almost feel that she is enjoying it on some level. I tried to change the subject to something positive so I mentioned that Elizabeth Smart was found. She couldn’t understand how this girl could be so brainwashed, could be so easily manipulated, doesn’t have a mind of her own (this is a 15 year old girl!). All I could do was shake my head. After I hung up I was so frustrated. Asked my daughter for a hug and then proceeded to clean out some of the closets. It does make me feel better. Is this typical behaviour among JW’s? My mother has always been a very depressing person even before becoming a Witness. My father is very arrogant. He believes that most people are very stupid and ignorant. Again I just shake my head. I can’t change their views. So I pray for them.

I only found this site a few weeks ago. A number of postings have moved me to tears. Really enjoyed "You know what, you people RAWK". I have read about frustration and justified anger but not hatred towards the JW’s. If these people only knew that most people who post here seem like genuinely nice people who really seem to care about each other. You don’t seem to have horns on your heads. CTM (chuckling to myself)

I think I have ranted long enough.

I wrote this last night. It’s a brand new day. The sun is shining. Five of us are getting together tonight at my place to watch My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It’s going to be a great day!!

Where does the $ come from?

i had a conversation with a jw lady recently and she proudly stated that they didn't pass the collection plate, like the churches do.

to me a rose by any other name is still a rose.

to pay the bills ( hall, hydro, phone, charity etc, etc) the money has to come from somewhere.

with the un on the tv all the time my husband is just stuck to it waiting for jw prophesis to come true it is so sick , you can just see the mind minulipulation going on in his head.i have been reading about the un and the watchtower in threads and in freeminds , i was not surprised but very hopeful that this maybe what i need to finally get my husband to see the sickness of this cult.i printed out the photocopy on freeminds and showed it to him ,also everyday he reads the dailytext thats supposed to have bible verses for each day, i compared his text with the bible and found many differences and each text ends with the wt page and yr this verse was in.well i confronted him and holy crap he went nuts , screaming , it's all lies that is an apostate sight, anyone can print anything about us.i told him i could send a letter to the un for conformation, well that did it he threw a cup and smashed it and looked crazed.you would think after all these yrs of him being in a cult i could accept it , but i can,t ,i know what it is and it makes me sick , i am starting to believe these sick asses are going to win, one way or another i will get away from this.

the despise for this cult grows by the minute.

the only thing keeping me sane is all of you , i feel very cared for here ,you all can think for yourselves and say how you feel, i think i know all of you more then my husband of 29yrs.

This is my first post so bear with me. I have to say I do worry where the anger could lead. I am not a Witness but both my parents are, and once a month I have to see a Witness through work. I understand the frustration, but I am slowly learning not to let it get to me. I have no control over someone else, only myself and I have learned that I can't win an argument with them (just like you can't win an argument with a teenager-I have one) The best way for me is to stay relatively calm (on the outside anyway) and pray before I see them, to be loving towards them (though I believe you don't have to like them-and to be honest I don't) But I stay in contact with my parents because I do love them-and pray that someday they will see God's Truth, not the Society's truth. My father is a very arrogant man (he says that most people are stupid and ignorant) and my mother has played the victim all her life. It's very sad.
