a simple question: do you hate the religion of jehovah's witnesses?
feel free to elaborate on your answer.. b.
i hate fanaticism and intolerance of any stripe or color. not every jw exhibits those qualities. many who are not jw do.
love is the answer.
i expect at least 1 good wishes...please!!!!

happy birthday, mouthy!
i am glad you are here!

i'd have to say for me that it was ayn rand's the fountainhead.
even though i don't agree with a lot of her philosophy, it definitely made me stumble around in a thought-induced haze for a few weeks after reading it.
the women's room by marilyn french was a HUGE eye-opener for me when i read it in the 70's. everyone should read it but particularly every woman.
she's in the hospital suffering seizures.
i don't know much more than that.
i'll go see her at the hospital tomorrow.
i am sorry. i hope it is not serious.
how many are managers/supervisors and have to deal with one or two employees who are complete and udder nightmares, i.e.
not staying in their desk, always behind, always a crisis and have to leave work, has a smart-ass attitude when counseling or cries when you tell them what they need to be doing?
i have one that my boss hired as soon as i was promoted and i have to manage that employee and my boss knew about this person was when they was hired!!
sounds like tonite's episode of the apprentice.

15 things you probably never knew or thought about 1. at least 5 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.. 2. at least 15 people in this world love you in some way.. 3. the only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.. 4. a smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.. 5. every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep.. 6. you mean the world to someone.. 7. if not for you, someone may not be living.. 8. you are special and unique.. 9. someone that you don't even know exists loves you.. 10. when you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.. 11. when you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.. 12. when you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you believe in yourself, probably, sooner or later, you will get it.. 13. always remember the compliments you received.
forget about the rude remarks.. 14. always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know.. 15. if you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.
good advice. it is nice to hear a positive voice.
to send greetings to my dear ones here... and wish all peace!
i haven't been "around" much over the past year or so, unfortunately... here... or in life in general... due to work and studies (both full-time).
ummmmm... that's not entirely true: awhile ago, i asked to be "relieved" of my assignment here (as of january 2004), because, well, i was sick... and "tired.
it is nice to see you. may the Lord bless you and your endeavors.
best wishes, nowisee
i just have to comment about the canned wtbts music on cd the local congregations play on $150 cd players through $20 speakers set in the foamboard ceilings at their sales meetings worship services.
what a joke the music is that they use to sing praises.
the lyrics remind me of a high school pep rally with all the emphasis on 'we're joe hoba's witnesses and yada-yada-yah preaching from door to door and from house to house' or 'life everlasting in the pair-o-dice' crap that just tickles the dubbies ears so much they get all pretty and pink.
i am just curious....
when i was coming up there was a green songbook....i can remember the creased and folded covers and how they were handed out at every service meeting....many of the tunes were adoped from "christendom".
then that was changed and there was a new songbook sometime in late 60's/early 70's with a new sort of magenta cover with new original songs that were "untainted". some of the songs were alright, but many seemed forced. the society released a set of recordings on lp's which i played over an over although many were out of tune. i left wts in 75. was there another songbook after that?
thanks, nowisee
ok highly loaded question but i'd like to know!
i come from the viewpoint that we are spiritual beings having mortal experiences ergo we are having constant spiritual experience that maybe makes it seem commonplace..i'd be interested if anyone else has noticed spiritual events happening?
i'll shoot first: .
once, many years ago, someone wronged me badly. i had to do a lot of soul searching but in the end i was able to forgive. i thought about it a lot and one day, in my attic apartment i looked out at the spring sky, with the flowers blooming and sun shining i realized if i could truly forgive, and i was certainly a most imperfect creature...then i could be forgiven. and if i could be forgiven anyone could be forgiven....and i will never forget that day and that moment when absolutely everything seemed right in the world.
after 911 being apart from any semblance of piety for a very long time i told God that i didn't know if he was there but that i was looking for him and why didn't he come and find me. a few minutes later i happened to meet an athiest friend who proceeded to tell me out of the blue, that she had just had a conversation with her doctor who had converted from islam to christianity. she, being intrigued, had questioned him and he gave her the book, "mere christianity" by c.s. lewis. she told me she wasn't going to read it and i could have it. this incident impacted me months later when i actually read the book and actually began to feel that there was some hope.
