4that was really hilarious! I was reading along just trying to figure out what this was going to be the joke creeped up on me and before I knew it I was agreeing that solomon was wise to leave jehovah. Could you imagine if a, say teenager got ahold of that not suspecting it was from an apostate. They would just start getting foggy and depressed not knowing why. Docs would have them on anti depressants. Then one day they would just snap and leave the organization never knowing why. I love that slow delivery humour. So hilarious.

GODS NAME?
by ADJUSTMENTS inin my culture using the first name or even last name ( we use mom, dad, sir,ma'am,grandma, grandpa, auntie, uncle) of my parents or an older and respected person in my family or circle of friends it is considered downright disrespectful!!!
even when it comes to a person who is a doctor in secluar society, out of respect you would say dr. last name, not using the first name.
not sure of how your culture does things, but if its a friend or an aquatintence of the same age we typicaly can use their first name.

The medical specialist told me something alarming today. Pretty bummed.
by Julia Orwell inso i've been going to doctors for years with chronic fatigue, a condition i managed ok but which took a drastic nose dive in late 2011 to 2012 to the point where i could barely function.
work was part of the problem, so at the end of that year i left that stressful environment.
but in the meantime, for the last few years i've been going to doctors, specialists, psychiatrists and psychologists and undergoing every sort of blood test you can imagine and seeing all sorts of medical people.

I have cronic pain and chronic fatigue. I started on methadone a few months back and it has relieved not just my pain but eased my fatigue and given me much enrrgy. My problem has been that so often I work wigh doctors on my pain that my fatigue gets ovrrlooked. Also physical body pain may be a trigger or cause of fatihue. It certainly is not far fetched to think such a thing in any case. I would like to know who your doctor is. I admire that he would go there if you know what I mean. Could you pm me when you get a chance. Maybe we could form a sort of jwn support groip just for chtonic fatigue and chronic pain.

I'm curious, when you were asked to do a demo for a Service Meeting part, how did the request make you feel?
by Stand for Pure Worship indid you decline out of fear?
decline because you hated doing demos?
accept the request graciously?

Question for apostates!
by TheStumbler ini have a question.. the conventional wisdom seems to be that to 'convert' a jehovah's witness (or get them to see ttatt) you have to ask questions that they cannot answer and engage with their true personality not their 'cult personality'.. intellectual arguments tend to fall flat because jws (who do not already have personal doubts) believe they already know the absolute truth so anything contrary to that truth is nessecarily wrong.
any criticism of their beliefs will be seen as an attack or persecution and will be dismissed as flawed 'human thinking' or 'apostate lies'.. to 'true believers' any amount of contrary evidence and illogical inconsistencies in their beliefs can be dismissed or explained away.
their starting point is that they have special knowledge of absolute truth and all evidence and arguments are then weighed against this preconceived belief.. here is my question.

I believe that every jw hss some doubts that may be exploited or used as a point of leverage. They may not even be
AWare that they have a doubt but if you dig around enough it'll be there. I have had some success getting into intellectual debate during some of my fake studiesI have set upi

I know a contingent of people on this site have strongly voiced their opinions of negativity towards Lawrence, how he has handled the case, poor decisions he has made , how he has handled his grief and on and on... some have gotten really personal in their attacks against him etc. I am not s
AYIng this as a counter attack on those persons,I am just laying out the actual history of support but mostly insufficient support we as exjws have given LH overthe years. I think it is time to really dig deep and send this story out into the ethosphere like a flaming viking funeral. Lets support Lawrence, the film makers and most of all Bethany who we can all still hear calling out to us, "dont let it happen to another kid like me...

Im hoping that parents that get questioned on old light
will make sure they prepare ahead of time for the monday
nite family bible study. The whole issue needs to have the
Eyes of children with innocent and naive perspectives to take a look at them. What a beautiful wrap to this ni bb tmare cult if it all were brought
Down by a group of children who were just asking a few simple question..

Challenge to Athiests - is Religion a Pox on Mankind?
by jgnat ini've spent the last few years examining my core beliefs to test what still stands.
i've let go of an inviolate bible, demoted jesus to a failed prophet, and god as unable to act against injustice.
our universe made itself.

Religious. Experience has indeed been associated to surges in dopamine in exactly the same way that runners' high. I learned this in onee of my first psychology classes in college.
It has been used to explain the way cult members' eyes get a glazed look in them when in the middle of their religious experience

Look, Up in the Air...It's a Bird, it's a Plane...No, It's a JW!!
by Cold Steel infor you ex-jehovahs witnesses...and even you current ones...have you ever contemplated your future existence in paradise earth, should you be fortunate enough to end up there?
during those raucous, fun moments at the kingdom hall when you were contemplating eternity and having the times of your lives...did you ever speculate about what life would be like?
for example, would you have to walk everywhere or would you be able to fly around like superman?

I was enjoying his post until cofty brought up his mormonism. Man did it take a 1984 turn about at that point. Suddenly it became the devil pointing at super devil and putting suprr devil down because the devil is rihhteous compared to super devil. But im so glad this was brought up. Indeed mormon teachings are among the most riduculous. But then we have eevery other religion ever in existence. They all have a certain level of stupidity. Walking on water, turning water into wine and noah and the ark. I reccommend the videos of darkmatter on you tube for some of the funniest cartoons ever made all based on yhe bible. If I could copy and paste on my phone id do that here.

i hope this comes up - if not you can copy and paste.
very humbling and eye-opening to see ourselves in this perspective - how arrogant, self-righteous and oblivious we are as a species.

So wouldnt it make sense that a god of such an organized creation also have an organization yhat represents him on earth? Also, rather than using just one man and his human philosophy and perspective, would not a loving god choose a group of men to lead his organized people and distribute his organized truth?
