It has always KILLED ME when I saw the depictions of children running out of GRAVES....and FULLY CLOTHED right down to the frilly socks, patten leather shoes and BRAIDS!!! Damn....did Lasarus look that good after HE was ressurected after being dead only FOUR DAYS??
Plus, every woman is wearing a more modern style dress or skirt--no slacks or pantsuits. It seems that there wasn't anyone resurrected from earlier periods--or if they were, they got resurrected in modern garb.

The lion with the beachball is bizarre. A lion that is so un-lionlike is hardly a prize. (That lion/beachball picture is priceless, however! )

yesterday, i was cleaning out the dark recesses of my purse and found the blood card.
i was going to throw it away but stopped.
after doing some research on blood in the bible, i no longer believe in the jw blood doctrine.

I don't know what laws allow, but it's hard to believe that your voice would not be a deciding factor in a life/death situation.
I hope someone here (nurses? lawyers?) can let you know what your power of choice is, and how you may have it (if needed).

a big thank you to those who created this board and for all the amazing people who post here.. truth be told (no pun intended) i have seen other religious boards out there but never felt compelled to join since i didn't feel qualified to speak one way or the other regarding their beliefs.
this board is another story.
i was raised as a witness but never thought so many people all over the world had a similiar past as i did.

i get a phone call last friday telling me there was a note pinned to the door of my old house (deserted and up for sale) saying to contact this person asap because i am an heir to something or other.. eventually, i get around to it this morning; i make the call.. it seems xto energy corporation is looking for me because i'm an heir to my great grandmother's mineral rights to a 4 acre strip of land in burleson texas.
the land is wanted for drilling purposes by the oil and gas drilling exploration team.. i met with the agent this morning.
he showed me my great grandmother's obituary and his copy of the family tree.
Then they take the proceeds and head for Starbucks.
Obviously they inherited a great deal of money!

I know that we have a couple lawyers here on the board, and I REALLY admire one of them in particular (stillconcerned, who is one of the lawyers prosecuting the child abuse cases in CA).

i was raking my leaves when he came by- nice sunny day,too.
he had only 5 years in the org, so the discussion didn't go too well for him.
i told him i had already seen the tract - a friend showed it to me.
Well, I think the guy's smile faded away after he was beyond your horizon. Having a pasted-on smile like that ain't natural. He just wanted to project confidence despite the new info until he can check it out.
BTW moshe, what about the other JW you were planning to meet up with? Anything happen yet?
