  somebody is always insisting they have an invisible and mysterious source of divine information and selling it like hotcakes and syrup.

  but, why are you still buying?

  when will you ever learn that this is a scam among many scams.

  I am sure this has been addressed earlier, and I just skimmed these pages and ignored several flaming pages. But here are my simplest thoughts.

  Revealed to whom?? Revealed to entire mankind all at once? A group or person long ago or a modern group or person? Lots of groups or individuals over time? Any of these, if they can be corroborated? If so, then I would submit that God has revealed personal love to me. And that revelation corroborates with individuals and groups, past and present.

  Loving a spouse or child is reflexively chalked up to "nature", but I think we go well beyond the animal world with our emotional connections. Human love can be passionate--and not simply erotically passionate. Love has public and private faces--hopefully we experience both kinds, but I am not sharing my husband with anyone to prove my own experience--it would simply never work! I wouldn't leave him for being unable to prove it, either.

  I use the above example as a springboard only say I recognize the personal experience of love. I "learned" that God loves me in first grade, but it was not experienced/revealed/known until a few years later, and always by surprise. Like seeing the sun with my own eyes, versus hearing about the sun from books at school. I have seen the sun; many others have, too. In my whole life, it's what I value the absolute most: knowing (experiencing) that God passionately loves me.

  And from that, I honestly believe that everyone is deeply loved by God, passionately. Many (if not all) of you will eventually discover/experience this, too, I believe.

  CONVERSATION WITH MY JW SISTER LAST NIGHT......

  well i guess this was a long time in coming, but yesterday afternoon, my family all got together and had a bbq at my parents' home.

  when my parents left at around 6:00pm to drive my one non-dub sister home, my other sister and brother in law (former elder), stayed for a while longer.. we've never discussed my leaving 'the truth' a couple of years ago but she brought it up last night and we started talking about the religion.

  everyone had been drinking but no one was drunk, so alot got said.

  It's a good thing that she has committed to leaving if there is the chance that the WTS is not true. Maybe you should summarize it again before you say more: that she has just said that she is committed to following GOD/Truth no matter what... even if it might lead her away from the WTS. Point blank, ask her if she sees God pointing one direction and the WTS the other, ask which one she is most dedicated to serving. That might help her see the issue once the fork in the road (hopefully) gets clearer.

  I also have always been partial to the quotes of the leaders of the WTS at the Scotland trial, where they admitted under oath that it was beholden upon JWs to have UNITY at any cost--even at the cost of the JWs following an admitted false prophet! AND that if a JW did NOT follow their lead after understanding them to have given false prophecy... that JW would be considered worthy of death. How convoluted is that??! I can't think of any defense for this. It is utterly indefensible. It completely overwhelms the "pro" reasons she can come up with, such as "preaching work". (And besides, surely she must know about some of the different evangelical methods for reaching others such as the Jesus Film!)

  Is this supposed to be a provocative question? It is confusing...

  Coaster, things can rush all at once and overwhelm you, and make you think it is all hopeless. Don't trust your emotions right now. Hope for the future is out there, even when the moment is dark. This is the experience that members here attest to. The future is full of possibilities, and many of them are beautiful.

  Keep your integrity as you make your choices. I believe God honors that, even if you don't think He's involved.

  i regret to inform, all of you that i will no longer be a member of this board, ive thought about it a long time and to hard decision that after many hours of praying i will be returning to the society.

  i know its the only way i can confront the problem that i am currently faced with, i am sure all of you at one time thought about it too, i am however weak, i know that going back will only delay matters and keep this horrible secret of mine, but its the only way i know how i can deal with it.
