  or even are still there at the hall attending due to family.. .

  do you think that when you were at your 'strongest as a believer' that anyone would have guessed how you feel about the wts now?.

  Yes...shocked would describe it. A few of them are intrigued. One friend told us his wife said, " I wonder why all the "normal" people are leaving?". We are fading and have chosen to say NOTHING as to our reasons. I have a few friends left who try very hard to find out.

  Kids and meetings

  i remember when they would discourage kids from taking colors or coloring books to the meetings.

  so i thought ok, i will give my kid a pen and my book of bible stories to keep him busy.

  then they said that was a bad idea because he might write on the furniture and it wasnt good to teach them to write on the wbt publications.

  I remember sitting in the backroom (where else was there to go?) with my active 18 month old. Tried to keep him quiet and didn't realize he was tapping his foot on the cabinet. The attendant came in, glared, and pointed his finger in my baby's face and through gritted teeth said, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE QUIET!"...all the while the vein on his forehead was about to burst. He didn't say a word to me, just my baby. I know of NOWHERE else that children are expected to be adults. Yes, we brought books, quiet toys, etc. and you can not imagine the stares and glares we received. My blood boils just thinking about this particular subject...It was one of the things that got me thinking....Hmmmmm.........something seems to be very wrong here!!!

  Disassociated

  i just found out that the elders announced meia's and my disassociation at the service meeting this week.

  they'd called me on monday and told me that they were going to; i fired off an appeal letter the next day, and hadn't heard anything, so i thought they might have postopned the announcement.

  i just found out, however, that the meeting was held on monday this week because the other congregation had the co's visit.

  come on, leaving the org for being "materialistic" is one of the best ways to go.

  how many have the luxury or at least the appearance of having this "sin"?

  for obvious reasons i'm not going to comment on this, but i'm curious to know.

  I have noticed personally that my JW experience has taught me how to be balanced. Perhaps it's because I was so UNBALANCED for so long. You tend to need to experience one to appreciate the other fully.

  It would appear that being in the Borg make you appreciate what is truly important. As Paul said, "Know how to HAVE an abundance AND how to be LOW on provisions."
