Wonderful book! I'm currently reading an older Philip Yancy book "Disapointment With God"
My favorite Christian writer so far is Max Lucado though. He's pragmatic and compares issues with everyday life.
i found it the most upbuilding, faith-strengthening book i have ever read.
particularly coming from the judgmental wt system, it was like a comforting refreshing stream in which to bathe.
i know that many on this board no longer believe in god or the bible.

from what i can see, it's nearly impossible to reason with a witness, even if you might consider them somewhat intelligent.
You generally cannot reason with them but you can almost always plant seeds of doubt.
i found something out yesterday that kinda bugs me.
first of all, let me go back to 1992.. i was 14 at the time, and my half-brother (on my mother's side) was getting married.
my mother decided not to attend because her ex-husband was going to be there.
"Just because he doesn't love you the way you want him to love you, it doesn't mean he doesn't love you"
He's most likely totally oblivious to how he's behaving.
very early this morning i was driving to work.
i live out in the country so usually it's rare to see anyone walking down the road esp.
at 6:30 in the morning.
I know it must have been difficult but you did the right thing by stopping.
I am an ex-JW Christian and I haven't accepted a Trinity yet. Yes, there are other Christians who believe I am not saved because I haven't done so.
My primary focus is on the simple things as Jesus outlined in the Gospels.
after reading the wt for last week's lesson on god's creative works i couldnt help but think that there really is a god, there has to be.
i dont want to start a creation vs. evolution debate but you have to agree that its an extremely remote chance that the whole universe, the planets, stars, the sun, the earth, the animals, humans came about by accident.
i mean, what the chances really.
I do believe in God, a Loving one. That's why I left the WTBS.
The questions you ask are exactly the same questions many other people have. That's the hook the WTBS and other cults use to get people into their organizations.
The best way for you to get the answers is to read the Bible without the use of outside Books and Magazines.

The seller would make a lot more money if the items were split up.
once in a while, usually in the morning shortly after waking up, i find my "body" lifting up from my physical body, but i remain attached at the head.
it's a very pleasant experience but i wish i could totally separate from the physical body so i could go exploring.
this happened this morning again.. .
Like Billygoat, I had lots of dreams about flying when I was a child. Only problem was, I seemed to have problems dodging overhead electrical wires.
cosby has harsh words for black community
by don babwin, associated press writer
chicago - bill cosby (news) went off on another tirade against the black community thursday, telling a room full of activists that black children are running around not knowing how to read or write and "going nowhere.
I know literally hundreds of Black Jehovah's Witnesses who DO NOT act in the manner Bill Cosby spoke of. Even though they're part of a White Man's Cult, they are still a credit to the community. I don't recall hearing them complain about the White Man being responsible for them. I also know many non-JW Blacks who are Exceptional People. Some are my friends.
I live in Columbus Ohio where we have a huge immigration of people from Somalia. I feel so badly for these people because many of them escaped hunger and torture in their native land and are now being attacked and molested by the ignorant blacks in our Country. You'd think the blacks would be more understanding but they're worried the Somali people are getting too much attention.
Bill Cosby is "Right On" with his comments.
I believe it is offensive to the black race to continue making lame excuses for the lazy and irresponsible few.
i'm so exited, i just got an email from a cousin i have not had contact with for 15 years.. he was disfellowshipped 15 years ago, and being a good jdub i ceaced all contact with him.

I'm so happy for you Lehaa! There is a Good Life on the Outside of the WTBS. I love it when others discover this.
