Fading hurts so much!!

yet another update on my story:.

for various reasons, i still have to go to all meetings.

(i am looking to change my personal circumstances to allow me to live somewhere else so i can fade easier)... i actually don't mind going to the mid-week meeting since i can comment on the bible reading, and slowly but surely i can introduce little seeds of cognitive dissonance... making it seem like i am super interested in what the interlinear says or that people can actually go and check out the manuscripts for themselves online!

Using the name Jehovah when praying

i know of number of jws who believe that if anyone doesn't address god as jehovah when praying that the prayer really goes to satan... especially if you pray to someone else (jesus, for example).. i haven't been able to find that specific teaching in wt literature.

they do say that we are to pray only to jehovah, but i haven't been able to locate a publication that says the prayer really goes to satan if you don't.. is there such a reference?.

I actually feel bad using the name "Jehovah" in prayer... I now pray using "God" or "Father" and if I say "Jehovah" by accident, then I ask God to forgive me... it most likely isn't God's name, just a bad attempt at making it.

Regrets for knowing the TATT? Strange feeling overcoming...

today is a strange day.. i have been out of the borg for a while now.

some years have passed and i thoroughly enjoy the freedom, not having to bend my mind and rape my soul to force myself to do and say things that i don't feel or believe.

i started my own business, got a wonderful girlfriend and made some friends (that are not monsters like the wt$ likes to portray others).. my parents, siblings, brothers-in-law, cousins, aunts, uncles, ex-wife, "friends" and my daughter, have cut their contact to me.

Hey!! PLEASE don't do anything drastic!! PLEASE talk to us, or a crisis help line. DON'T do anything even similar to putting a gun to your temple.

What you need is HOPE... and I am giving you some: I myself would have never guessed coming to this website and posting every day and for all intents and purposes being a "secret apostate"... I have talked to my cousin who has been DF'd for 10 years+ and he was very happy to talk to me. HANG IN THERE!! You never know when someone else in your family, independently, will learn TTATT and come be your family again...

There are LOTS of good people here... vent here!!

Well my point is for them to be like what the...? But I guess I did not make it pointed enough... The point here is that a lot of J versions think that Jesus is Jehovah, and so their footnote is interesting because it says "Not Jehovah". They have to explain themselves, saying that the use of the title which is exclusively used for Jehovah is JUST AN OPINION of the translators...

What they don't say is that ALL places where "Jehovah" appears, it is an opinion of the translators. There is no "Hebrew" word in Romans 10:9, or anywhere in the NT because it was in Greek...

"I loved Romans 10:9! It says that we must recognize Jesus as Lord to be saved!! In the original greek, the Bible uses Kyrios. In the Hebrew versions, they use ha-Adhon. When I compared with appendix 1H, it says that ha-Adhohn is a title exclusively reserved for Jehovah God"...

I AM TELLING THEM SOMETHING THAT SHOULD FREAK THEM OUT, AND THEY LIKE IT!?!??!! NO REPLIES SAYING WT HECK?!?

ARE THEY NOT SEEING THE POINT THAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM???

This totally proves to me that the critical thinking level, or even the THINKING level, for a lot of JW's, is exactly ZERO.

Sometimes I wonder if it is hopeless...

I hope that the rest who have seen the post (this page is liked by thousands of JW's)... will connect the dots... wait... they are connected already. I hope that some will actually THINK and see how my post should freak them out...

It is only if I post in a "fighting" tone that they reply... if I post like I actually agree with the WTS... they read it but don't get the sense of it... -.-

Was Your Leaving The Witnesses A Very Gradual Process Or A Quick One?

for me, it took many years.. even when i would read all the changes over the years from the "truth", i still would ignore it and "wait on jehovah" and try to be a positive force in the congregation.. eventually, i just couldn't take it anymore and resigned as an elder, and slowly but surely made my fade.. what about you?

I am STILL not out, personal circumstances prevent me from going out... but I am definitely starting a fast fade as soon as I get a job in a different city!!

Here's my personal timeline:

2004 (?): I actually research some of the things in the Daniel book, go to an encyclopedia. Confirms to me (in my cult mind) that encyclopedia is very skeptical.

I was a pioneer in 2006. I had read 1 Thessalonians 4, where it talks about the archangel. I read the footnotes, and the footnotes indicate that other versions say the archangel is "Jehovah"!! I decide to ask the CO, since he looked knowledgeable. Why does it say "Jehovah" here? His answer: The Society's being honest.

Sometime in 2007, I read somewhere, in what was obviously an apostate website, that mother's milk contains white blood cells. I remember an article saying that because fractions cross the placenta, then it is acceptable. I think of the obvious question: Why don't we accept white blood cells?

Sometime around July 2012, I have an epiphany: WHY do we believe in the paradise? I look up the answer in Google, leads me to JWFacts.com

I dabble in jwfacts.com for a while... then start reading the Bible and "irreverently" asking as many questions as ever come up into my mind, why this? why that? I stop researching only in WTS literature, and just go to the internet. Matthew 4:14 why this... Romans 10:9 why that...

Sometime around February 2013, I start researching 607 vs 587. This leads me to various websites, sometimes hitting jwfacts.com

I start reading many, many, many different apostate websites. I am loving jwfacts.com... I research the quotes from the WTS CD, and what do ya know? It's all in there!! OMG!! I never knew we actually believed all this!! OMG!! Jehovah is not in the NT!! OMG!! Jesus is really not our mediator!!

It is now August 2013, and I am still trying to fade in a nice way... I was going to fade nicely, but losing my previous job hindered that...

As soon as I get a new job, I will totally fade... not going with a blaze of glory since I want to be a "JW" for as long as possible, to get my dad out, and then my mom...

I really hope I can!
