Ok so here's what I have so far (A is my GF, B is the "householder"):
Please let me know if there's anything I should add. Notice I don't mention the Bible Teach book at all, but just the Bible... I had to use the mag since we will pretend she is preaching... I don't know how subtle the bolded parts are... I love the parts that are in red... almost all JW's will agree with them but if they actually did this they would probably not be with the WT... Unfortunately, I do not know how to entirely take out the reference to the magazines... maybe not making it the issue...
I also feel like I should put more Bible texts in there... If I could slip a Deuteronomy (false prophets) or another one, that would be great.
A: Hi! I have this magazine, it asks why are there so many religions… have you ever wondered that?
B: Yes, I have wondered about that! All of them say so many contradicting things! I just want to worship God in my own manner and I don’t feel like I have to go to church to be able to worship God.
A: Thank you for your sincere comments. Did you know that a recent tabulation concluded that there are 10 main religions and some 10,000 sects? There’s even a Star Wars religion and people who worship flying saucers! There's also dangerous religions which order their followers to commit suicide.
B: So why so many religions?
A: Many factors have contributed to the development of new religious groups. Some have said that the various religions all represent different ways of presenting religious truth. But a comparison of their teachings and practices with the Bible indicates, rather, that the diversity of religions is because people have become followers of men instead of listening to God.
B: What do you mean, followers of men instead of listening to God?
A: Well, the only truth is found in the Word of God, which is the Bible. When people do not read what is in the Bible, and only accept what their church leaders tell them without verifying if what they are being taught is actually in the Bible, then they are likely to follow men instead of really listening to God. Look at how Jesus condemned such actions: Would you like to read here, in Matthew 15:8-9?
B: (Reads Matthew 15:8-9)
A: Thank you. So we can see that regardless of whom a group profess to worship, if they hold to doctrines of men instead of the inspired Word of God, their worship is in vain. I would like to encourage you to study the Bible with us. Would you like me to come and study the Bible with you?
B: Yes, I would really like that!
A: Great! So, I will leave you these magazines, and how about when I come back we study with the Bibleifthere is a true religion? Can I come back next week?
B: Ok!
A: Thanks!! Have a nice day!!
