I'm getting disfellowshipped
by raven inhi everyone, a bit of an update here on my continuing disaster of a situation.. (refer to my previous posts for the full story) my mom met with me yesterday for dinner, it was nice.. however, she brought up the fact that because i live with my boyfriend and how everything has gone down, i will be disfellowshipped.. i think the elders basically have enough proof of this.. due to the anonymous tipper (still have no clue who it was, i live in another town 100's of miles away from my old congregation territory), and my mom telling them.
i'm not sure when they will announce it, or if they will contact me prior.. at this point i feel so emotionally dead i don't care- on the other hand, i don't want to be disfellowshipped because i do not want to loose a relationship with my mom.
that is the whole reason i tried fading out.. .

Beards - September 2016 Watchtower
by Listener inthe issue of whether beards are acceptable or not is addressed in the september 2016 watchtower - well sort of.
it is as clear as mud as to whether they are allowed in places like australia, usa and britain.. 17. what are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?17 what about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard?
the mosaic law required men to wear a beard.

I am glad they addressed beards being allowed in other countries. It will hopefully give JW's a different perspective. Many look down on men with beards as rebels, even though they hold no position and are not baptized.
I know a young man that has been asserting his right to wear his beard. Many of his close JW friends and family made an issue of it, viewing him as being rebellious although he was not baptized and have no privledges. He used the scripture in Lev. to his defense but they still felt the need to make little slick comments regarding shaving his beard off or how he would look better without it. It wasnt until a family member spoke to a Circuit Overseer and he said to leave the boy alone, did they start to give him a little respect.

Faithful Slave is not appointed yet - only in the future
by TheWonderofYou indid you read this study articel in which the slave says it is not appointed yet?.
excerpt from study articel 13 7/15 p 8. so there is good reason for us to understand matthew 24:46, 47 to mean that jesus will arrive to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings at that time in the future during the great tribulation.

Died Due To Refusing Blood Transfusion
by rrb2016 inwell, last monday my mother, a jehovah's witness since her baptism in 1968 died last week because she would not accept a blood transfusion.
she was 76 and had lung and skin cancer.
i know that the cancer would have gotten her anyway, but she was bleeding internally, and was told that she needs a blood transfusion, as her blood count went all the way down to 3.2 (should be 12-14.

I'm getting baptized
by BlackWolf ini know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.

Very brave BlackWolf. There's lots of good advice in this thread. I hope the best for you. Keep coming back asking questions and/or venting if you need to while working through this. -

Below is an excerpt from this Sunday's WT.
Maybe you express that you want to do deeper study like Timothy and research of some of the questions raised. For example, you can say you would like to research the question, Why do I believe that God exists? You can say something like although you feel you know the answer, you want dig deeper. It would also help you when teaching others.
Then maybe you can actually start researching, if you haven't already, and start raising points/questions to your parents. You can possibly drag this out a while, especially if you dont have much time for researching after work, meetings, field service etc.
YOUR CONVICTIONS
3, 4. What lesson can young ones learn from the example of Timothy? 3 Think about how you would respond to these questions: Why do I believe that God exists? What convinces me that the Bible is God’s inspired Word? Why do I feel that living by God’s moral standards is better than adopting the lifestyle of the world? Those questions are not designed to create doubts in your mind. Rather, they can help you to follow the apostle Paul’s admonition: “Prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Rom. 12:2) But why did Christians in Rome need to prove to themselves something that they had already accepted? 4 Consider a Bible example. Timothy knew the Scriptures well. He had been taught “from infancy” by his mother and grandmother. Nevertheless, Paul urged Timothy: “Continue in the things that you learned and were persuaded to believe.” (2 Tim. 3:14, 15) According to one reference work, the original-language word for “persuaded” has the sense “to be convinced and certain of the truth of something.” Timothy had made the truth his own. He accepted it, not because his mother and grandmother told him to do so, but because he had reasoned on it for himself and had been persuaded.—Read Romans 12:1.

Paragraph 13 of this Sunday WT states,
13 To help you set goals, we have a worksheet on pages 308 and 309 of the book Questions Young People Ask—Answers That Work, Volume 2. This worksheet invites you to write your responses to such questions as “How specific are your prayers, and what do they reveal about your love for Jehovah?” “What do you include in your personal study?” “Do you engage in the ministry even if your parents do not?” The worksheet also provides space for you to write down any goals you would like to set regarding your prayers, personal study, and ministry.
Below are the questions within the worksheet. Maybe you can say you are taking your time going through these questions and setting personal goals but feel like 6 weeks is rushing it and this something you are serious about.
