  the 1997 wt, 4/15 page 26 is about weddings and more rules the wt tries to enforce to take the fun out of even weddings.

  "while a disfellowshipped person could be allowed to attend the talk at the kingdom hall, the watchtower of april 15, 1984, said: it would be unfitting to have in the wedding party people who are disfellowshipped or whose scandalous life-style grossly conflicts with bible principles.

  - isn't that funny?

  Reading articles like this makes me mad ! Having two teenage kids growing up in this religion , I wonder what the future holds for them. I thing I should let my kids read this and many others idiotic articles about this subject ,to show them how the courtship and wedding look like in Wt land.

  I'm speechless !! Writer of this article must have some mental problem. Next time they could write an article about , how the newly weds should spend their first night. Spiritualy of course and don't do anything naughty!

  Welcome.I am in the same position like you , still active , but slowly reducing my activity . My wife knows I am JW apostate and it is a difficult position to be in. She is Jw for a social reasons rather then doctrine and because of that it's nearly impossible to change her mind. She knows that many things don't make any sense and often she doesn't have a clue what the wt teach their flock in certain matters , but She does't mind. She constantly repeats Wt cliche about apostates and this hurts me sometimes. Hope you'll be more lucky with your wife then I am. Cheers.

  many friends i've spoken with are becoming discouraged.

  because of this it's becoming tempting to privately share my views with friends, but i know this is still too dangerous.

  most witnesses in my circle are intelligent free thinkers.

  I have been out on social event last week and got involved in conversation about 1914 and and the ovelapping nonsense. Elder from our cong was telling everybody that, because the second overrlaping generation is 70 years old, then end must be really close, definitely in 10 years. Everybody got really excited about it . I told him that, this is the sixth or seventh version of generation explanation and how can I be so sure that this is the right one. Answer, read Prov 4:18. and Micah something I can remember. This elder is born in, young man with great personality and great attitude , always helping others, often materialy. I mean he is great guy and we're friends (so far, he does't know I'm awful apostate ) but, mental block created by wt teachings in his head, does't allow him use his brain. How crazy and sad it is.
