JW's and Unemployment benefits
by PopeOfEruke inthe wt society is so proud in promoting the notion that all jw's are so law-abiding and how they pay all their taxes.. yet there seems to be no moral problem for them when a jehovahs witness elder can be a full-time regular pioneer and at the same time collect unemployment benefits.
and not just in the short-term but in one case the elder has been a full-time pioneer for many years, all the while collecting unemployment benefits from the government.. so if there are any active brothers or sisters reading this post, could you please explain to me how this is not dishonest, just as dishonest as not paying taxes?
why are jw's the biggest 2-faced hypocrites around?.

On another note, my ex's father, mother and younger brother (JW's) ALL work for cash under the table and pay no taxes on that income. That always pissed me off that they could be so self-righteous about religion, and all the while steal from the government.

Will the janet controversy cause a WTS backlash against the Super Bowl?
by Azalo inand other large sporting/entertainment events?
i can already hear the talks where someone mentions the incident and implies that jw's shouldn't even watch such events because they run the risk of seeing something like this.
and we all know that if the wts implies something they might as well write it in stone.

Ryan, I have never been JW, nor have I ever studied, but I was married to one (who, by the way, ruined my life.)

If JWs are still around in a hundred years, what will they be preaching?
by True North inif the jw org makes it another hundred years, what will they be preaching then?
how will their chronology and doctrines have changed?
if there are colonies on the moon or other moons, or mars, or out among the asteroids, will they still be reporting time in the house-to-house (pod-to-pod?

They will still be wearing cheap polyester dress clothes and will be saying "the end of this system is soooooo close at hand."

I tried it for a couple of months and met a few people. One psycho who kept calling persistently, one who totally misrepresented himself, several average guys, and one great man (whom I'm still seeing, by the way!!)

I'm reminded of Andrea Yates, the Texas mother who drowned her children. Their names were Noah, John, Luke, Paul and Mary. I remember thinking that was just creepy.

The true approved religion
by Galimo inone of the arguments i used to use while going from door to door was:.
if we would now live in the time of ancient israel and if we would want to adore god in the correct way then we would have to be part of the choosen people of israel.
adapt to its laws and customs, etc.

God, in the Christian theological sense, is omnipotent, all loving, all knowing, the Creator of everyone and everything. I have always had trouble with the fact that he would need or demand to be adored or worshipped... that he created all of us just so he could be admired. Seems kind of petty for a such a powerful being.

The elders in your local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses will also be willing and able to help out
Oh, I'm sure they would. That is, after they have the poor teen describe the entire event, verbatim, including what they were saying and what they were doing. Sickos.
