I think god is dead.
.
this question has probably been asked before, but since i am a newbie, i wouldn't know.. anyway, i would like to ask if you believe in god or a higher power since becoming an ex-jw?.

LOL @ Logansrun!!!!
I think god is dead.
my sister-in-law's husband was raised as a jehovahs witness in north yorkshire and was educated at home by his mother along with his 5 brothers and sisters.
i remember many years ago when it first became common knowledge, many brothers and sisters thought that this method of education was ideal for witnesses who wanted to remain separate from the world, but all the kids from our congregatation had a state education.
i guess my question is, was home education only limited to my in-laws husbands family, or were any of you educated at home?
In 10th grade I begged my parents to let me finish up my highschool studies in a homeschool program. My mom finally convinced my father. I completed a homeschool program where the principal of this private/homeschool would come by once a month to ensure I was meeting Colorado's educational requirments. I was also able to attend a local community college and transfer college credits towards my HS diploma and apply it towards my Associate's Degree. I ended up graduating a year and a half earlier than my fellow public school students. I've been working since I was 15 and that helped with some of the lonliness, as well as attending college. I still associated with a few friends in the public school after I'd left as well; I don't consider myself a social retard.
Looking back, if I hadn't been a JW, I probably would have enjoyed HS and wouldn't have wanted to leave the public school. Hell, if I hadn't been raised a JW, I might have enjoyed all my school years.
*Spunky Chick trying to mooooooooooooooove on*
with all the information we have nowadays, out of sheer curiousity, do any of you know your blood type?
for some, i know the blood-issue is a touchy subject, but it's interesting to know it.
you'd be surprised especially when the case of an rh-negative mother may give birth to an rh-positive child.
I recently received my donor card in the mail and found out I'm A+.
if you could enjoy a jewelry present of any sort, what would you want??
?
I love the princess cut diamonds...
remember all those times that you waited on jehovah for help?
remember how he didn't help?
tell some of your experiences of how jehovah didn't help you in your time of need.
He doesn't exist. Well, not in my mind anymore.
Wolfgirl - Amen to that!
Uknowthetruth - Jehovah is dead. Read Crisis of Conscience and get over it.
i've struggled with wanting to be 'something' mostly probably to fill that hole that was left and to try and belong somewhere, anywhere really.
so i've tried penecostal, presbyterian, united churches but they all seem fake.
i always compared everything to the jw's, and didn't even realize it.
I will not ever devote myself to any other religion, EVER.
so many do quote a scripture to make a point against an idea, yet i see that a number do not seem to believe in the bible's inspiration, anyway.
so, do you believe that the bible is god's inspired word??
?
The bible is crap.
another 24 hours, and i'll be gone!
no, not forever [too bad for all of you who thought you'd get some peace from the nutty dutch chick .
so, in short, how long i will be gone is uncertain, but trust me when i say: i'll be back.
Have an excellent vacation! Party hearty! Drink lots of beer and spank some hot men's asses (if you aren't married...then spank your husband's ass...hehehe)
did you get made fun of when you were in school?
i'm curious to know because when i was in junior high i was constantly picked on made fun of and the butt of many jokes.
even remembering that hurts till this day.
Yes, I was made fun of in school. I can remember all the way back to pre-school being made fun of for not saluting the flag, celebrating holidays, or birthdays. In 4th grade my teacher asked me to get in front of the class and explain my religion. In highschool I had a business teacher repeatedly mark me absent because I'd refused to work on a Halloween project. I have awful memories of growing up in school being a JW. Mary, you are not alone. I grew up a heavy child. I guess that was the only way I knew how to comfort myself during those awful, awful years.
both literal and spiritual?.
a minimus kinda question.
answer and help in our noble cause: the promotion of vivamus; from jedi to emperor!.
No, I wouldn't like to be a prostitute. However, I do think the government should legalize it. I have thought about taking one of those stripper exercising classes, where you get a great cardio workout in while working the pole. It sounds like fun!
