Picked up Ernest Hemingways Old Man and the Sea instead read the entire book in less than 2 hours. Still plan on reading Uncle Tom's Cabin but that would mean a trip to the library A Tale of Two Cities is waiting for me so that will probably be it.

Ex-JW Meet-Up: How Did Yours Go ?
by RAYZORBLADE injust curious.

I'm yet to actually make it to a meet-up. I actually talked about going to the last one with my wife and we probably would have gone had we not envisioned our children literally tearing the place down. Although sweet children, they are not JW children and do not sit still in trances. I have aptly bestowed upon my children the collective nickname "The Destroyers".
I am hoping to attend the next Meet-up in my area. Find a babysitter so The Destroyers won't make it impossible for me to hold a conversation. I am still somewhat new to the ex-jw experience despite the fact that I have been one since March of 1995. It has been like opening a door to the past that I have kept locked for many years. My wife knows only what my sister and I have told her about Jehovah's Witnesses, I think it would be a good experience. So Detroit area folks I look forward to meeting you.

I shall write a new myth. How The Celtic diety Gwydion created the game of hockey and gave it to man.
Couldn't help but notice the new little picutre. My daughters love the powerpuff girls. Since I have three each of them have adopted a power puff girl. my eldest Sharon is Blossom, my middle daughter Serena claims Bubbles and the youngest one Audrey is all Buttercup. They call me Professor. They have created their own superheroes too. My eldest is quite the little artist and she created the sock girl comic book series. The hero of course is sock girl played by herself. Serena is Candycane girl and Audrey is kicking girl.

Only Southerners know
by WildHorses inonly a southerner knows the difference between a 'hissie fit' and a 'conniption', and that you don't "have" them, you "pitch" them.
only a southerner knows how many fish, collard greens, turnip greens, peas, beans, etc.
make up a 'mess'.

two years ago my wife and I went to North Carolina. She fell in love with sweet tea. It wasn't exactly a vaction trip, but it did erase alot of preconceived notions about the south. We liked it so much infact we returned the following year with a more relaxed vacation like agenda.

Any Milton Bradley Game Masters out there?
by Valis inanyone out there play the old milton bradley game master games?
i have axis and allies and also fortress america.
fortress america is my favorite, i even have one of the last editions that they have saddam's face on the front...eheh...i like playing the us.....anyone else?.
-
Gwydion
I used to own the original Axis and Allies, Shogun and Fortress America. I was a board game kid. Then my parents became Jehovah's Witnesses and those games were deemed "unchrisitan" like and trashed. I was one angry 12 year old. I now own Axis and Allies and both of the newer Axis and Allies Euorpe and Pacific. I own Shogun again it has been renamed Samurai Swords. I have never found another copy of Fortress America. I don't really get to play them that much rarely do I find anybody willing to play and when I do, well my experience with the game makes it no contest and I usually don't end up having much fun. The one game that I can absolutely NEVER EVER get anybody to play for any reason no matter how much I try is Diplomacy. In fact everybody I know has banned me from even mentioning that game. In retaliation I have banned the game of Boggle.

I sit there for several minutes in a cold sweat.
Ok so the events didn't go exactly as portrayed here. Although based on a true story this is dramatized version for the big screen.
