Burial or Cremation?
by Francois ini got the idea for this thread from one jessika posted and which contained a response from dede.. which form of final resting place do you prefer and why?
personally, i want to be cremated and have my ashes scattered at a particular place on the beach on deserted st. catherine's island, a barrier island on the georgia coast.
my children could get there by boat (the only way) and visit my spirit there - even though i know my spirit won't be there, i believe that somehow i will know they're there and what they're saying.. being buried in a box six feet under to lie in the same position througout all eternity doesn't appeal to me in the least.

How much money would it take for you to go out in service?
by unbeliever insay you had to go out in field service for 2 hours in your neighborhood and talk to your neighbors about jehovah.
what would somebody have to pay you to do this or would you not do it for any amount of money?
if i am going to humilate myself it better be worth my while.

Could I pick a neighborhood with only JW's residing?
They would have to guarantee me 15 min. of me talking with no replies until i am finished. And the entire famlily has to be there. Including kids. -

Is everyone bitter against JW's?
by Redneckgurl ini have to post this question, because as i was trying so hard to talk to my husband about what i am learning and what others are saying, he is saying i am not doing this objectively at all, and only hearing things from bitter exjw's who are angry at the org for something.
i say this isn't true, i wasn't searching for answers due to a negative occurance in my life, and i don't believe everyone here was either.
he says i am only emotional about this, and trying to find reasons to prove all the things i have learned as wrong.

Webster Dictionary: Bitter - Difficult or distasteful to accept or admit.
I began studing the history of JW's because I wanted to PROVE them right. I did not agree with several teachings of "the Bible" as a child (shunning for 1) but when I knew how much I would hurt my mom & dad if I completely left the "truth," I wanted to prove to myself that MY DOUBTS were wrong.
If I was bitter it was because "it was difficult to accept" (as Webster says) that I could not prove JW's were right. That My PARENTS were so wrong. That my parents would not open their eyes to the WTBTS very on literature. I really truly wanted to prove to myself that everything was right. Look at all I was losing IF I COULDN'T PROVE IT. I WANTED to convince myself.... I WANTED to persuade myself. I would lose all I believed in if it wasn't true.
Ask your husband what he believes in, really truly believes in, besides JW's, if it was taken away from him what would happen? Does your husband really think anyone wants to be shunned from ALL of our JW family? Does your husband think "we" want to spend time sitting at this computer just so that we can find someone else that has opened their eyes to a lie that (most) we believed in? Each of of has haunts regarding JW's, if we didn't we would't need this site, none of us would be here. -

Created with a FreeWill........but........
by SillyPutty in......those few men in their ivory tower in ny have taken it away.
we're not even allowed to think for ourselves.
what are your thoughts on this?

Mystery
With free will would you....
1) Tell people they are not worth living, because they don't have the "true religion".
2) Let your child die because of not giving them life sustaining blood or heart transplant or liver transplant or......
3) Tell your "loved ones" only when they are doing wrong; and never when they are doing right.
4) Would you quit a job, simply because someone told you to..... becasue the end is coming.
5) Would you give up on your child because they are a challenge and not "perfect".
6) Take a cross and throw it in the trash with so much contempt that people standing by look at you like you are Satan himself.
7) Would you lecture someone on saying "bless you" when you sneeze to the point that the person will probably never say "bless you" again.
8) Would you disregard a plea for help just because there were not 2 eye witnesses.
9) Would you disregard a plea for help because MENTAL abuse and PHYSICAL abuse are not grounds for divorce; JUST LIVE WITH IT!
10) With free would you ..........
disown your child.
I don't know; maybe some people would. How many JW's are there now? -

Were You AFRAID Of The Elders???
by minimus insince the elders are always spoken of as being "a refreshment for your souls" and "loving shepherds", did you ever find yourself afraid of them?
-
Mystery
My dad was an elder. Many people were afraid of him. We had a "status" (an elder and money, we weren't "rich", but had enough to do pretty much anything we wanted) in the congeration.
Frankly, I was "afraid" of him, he was THE ELDER.
I guess he was alway afraid I might, just might, disappoint him. (I guess in the long run he was right).
I wonder if that is why he never told me that he loved me?
Guess I will never know. -

If she is not of legal age you STILL HAVE TO SIGN for her. Are you going to sign if she says "daddy please, I want to live" - you would be approving it - doc's won't do it without your signature. I hope this never happens to your daughter! I hope she doesn't die saying "daddy please......." -

How bad did Worldly people treat you when you were a JW?
by El Kabong ini grew up in the society and had the pleasure .
some worldly people would actually hit jw'w because they did not salute the flag.
(this in a country that prides itself on freedom of religion).

Of course, I reasoned with myself that Jehovah's People always were Persecuted. Just look at our Brothers in Malawi and what they were enduring...the Society had many stupid urban legends. Like for instance Smurfs are demonic.

We must be about the same age. That was pushed so far that now it seems comical. I had not thought about that in a long time... LOL. I can't believe we fell for that. But... i guess we were just kids.
My "best friends" at the KH; I really never hardly talked with them after I graduated and moved away from the congeration. My "best friend" in school (who also happen to be my cousin) still talk today. I can call her day or night about anything. She was with me thru my divorce, thru my son's drug problem, thru every problem I have ever had (even when in school and I wasn't suppose to be associating with her).
She treated me better than any JW. The girls in the congeration would use me as a shoulder to cry on but when they had their problem worked out, I didn't exist. They could be very cruel.
I would pick "worldly" over a JW any day. -
