Goodbye Old Friend.......
by ScoobySnax inabsolutely gutted tonight......got in from work and my sisters dog "lady" had just passed away.
i missed her literally by 5 minutes.
she hadn't been ill and had been out for a walk this morning as usual, when my sister came in from work she was just laid in her basket, but was barely alive, fixed eyes and very shallow breathing, i think she must have had a stroke at some point this afternoon.

I am sorry Scoob..
I picked up a absolutely beautiful collie today (minus her matted hair and being able to feel her ribs) we need a home for her.
I know it is a little early for someone to take your special ones place, but, as it was stated earlier, rescue dogs love you forever.
I would love to see a picture.
Take care,
deborah

How much of a Witness are you? Take the quiz!
by AlmostAtheist ini've wasted most of a day putting this quiz together.
it's only 10 questions, please give it a go and see what you get!.
if you think it could make a decent anti-witnessing tool, i might dress it up with links to the quotes site and the watchtower site to prove the accuracy of the points made.. if you see any inaccuracies or misleading comments, please let me know.. url = http://www.thebentinel.com/jw-quiz.php (embedded below).

TODAY'S PAPER Suit against sect members can proceed
By Dawn Walton
Saturday, February 26, 2005 - Page A7Calgary -- A lawsuit that accuses Jehovah's Witnesses members of contributing to the death of a Calgary teen who refused blood transfusions cleared a major legal hurdle yesterday as the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench rejected a motion that would have effectively thrown out the case.
Lawrence Hughes was rightfully named administrator of the estate of his 17-year-old daughter, Bethany, who died of leukemia in 2002, the court ruled yesterday. As a result, he can move ahead with his $975,000 lawsuit against the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada, its lawyers, its members and Bethany's mother.

Ruling offers new basis for suits against churches
by Mystery inhttp://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2005/02/23/ruling_offers_new_basis_for_suits_against_churches/ruling offers new basis for suits against churches.
by michael kunzelman, associated press | february 23, 2005. a superior court judge has ruled that a jehovah's witness church in boston can be sued for breaking its trust and legal duty to a girl who said she was sexually abused by one of the church's ministerial servants.advertisement.
suffolk superior court judge herman smith jr.'s ruling is believed to be the first time a massachusetts court has determined that church officials have a "fiduciary duty" to members of their congregation, a relationship akin to the one lawyers and doctors share with clients and patients.. smith's ruling, made earlier this month, also is expected to open another legal channel for lawyers to bring civil suits against churches for clergy abuse cases, according to lisa bruno, news editor for massachusetts lawyers weekly.. "it gives another piece of ammunition to plaintiffs, another grounds for finding a church liable for the actions of priests and ministers," bruno said.. carmen durso, a boston lawyer who settled 40 lawsuits against the archdiocese of boston in 2003, said he expects smith's ruling to pave the way for more clergy abuse cases to proceed.. "it affords another basis, a stronger basis, for bringing claims against churches in sex abuse cases," durso said.. the girl at the center of smith's ruling was between 9 and 11 when a ministerial servant with the columbus park congregation of jehovah's witnesses allegedly molested her during bible study classes in her home, lawyers weekly reported.. the girl's parents, who learned about the alleged abuse in august 2000, sued the ministerial servant and two boston-area jehovah's witness congregations for negligence as well as breach of fiduciary duty.
