CO Special Meeting with MS & Elders

when the co visits a cognregation this semester, a special meeting with elders and mss is sceduled tuesday night, right after the normal meeting.

does anyone know what this meeting is about?

this special meeting is held at the beginning of the co-week, and is different from the standard meeting with personnel which is held friday evening.

I'm pretty sure that most of what goes on in those meetings is just how the congregations doing, territory stuff, and new changes in political sorta stuff. My dad's an elder and is pretty transparent. I don't think it's super often that the meetings are about deleting various brothers/sisters or congregation problems, or investigtions.

An increase in security at this summer's conventions??

we've heard from friends in two separate congregations in our city that convention security will be tight.. the brothers made announcements this week and reminded everyone to be sure to wear their name badges.

those that don't may be questioned and have their belongings searched.

the same will be happen to anyone arriving during the sessions.

Unless they have probable suspicion for drugs or weapons, they can't touch you. Curious to go now to see what's up.

hello there i am new to the faith and have been studying for about a month.

i am very excited and hungry for the truth and have not missed a meeting or study since the memorial.

we do about 2 bible studies a week.

some judged me for going/having gone to university.

some judged me for being 'too smart.

' some judged my non jw brother for being in the army.

I was only a teenager, but they judged me for my long hair, my liberal opinions, and for listening to metal, lol. They didn't act hostile or anything, they were all still good friends.

Do you think JWs are dangerous, if yes why? If not, why?

personally the jws to me are not dangerous.

on the other hand, many do think they are in fact a dangerous cult.

why are they dangerous?.

I say the JWs themselves are dangerous to other people, but definitly the religion is. A lot of young children end up dying on the surgery table before they can really decide for themselves what they believe in. Also the doctrine I find instills an overly narcissistic view on life and the world, which I guess is "unhealthy"

I guess really the big difference between us and Amish/Mennonites is that they generally live in isolated communities. I remember going out in service in Mennonite territory cause my older brother was giving a talk in a rural kindom hall. One of the brothers was talking about life as a Memmonite, and it was pretty surprising how similar their "controlling techniques" are to ours.
