  Christian Social Influence Continues to Decrease

  a popular sydney news reader died this week (of cancer, at age 73).

  the news reports from a number of sources were uniform in praising the man, both professionally and for his human qualities.. and, the obituaries all mentioned his partner:.

  The only point I can gather from the scripture quoted by LogCon is that heterosexuals should not give up their natural sexual use for the opposite sex by violating themselves in unnatural ways with members of the same sex. To do so would bring punishment by God.

  I see no injunction against gay people here. In fact, we have always understood that laws handed down to man apply equally to women. Would it not stand to reason this law handed to heteros applies equally to homos?

  FOR THE LORD GOD SAYS:
  "HETEROS - Keep your winkies in the women!"

  "HOMOS - Keep your winkies in each other!"

  Given people's distaste for religion's behavior, religion has lost much of it's influence over public opinion. This trend can only snowball as the LogCon-types spit hate wads from the back row where they have been confined by decent human beings who demand a higher standard of conduct.

  DATA-DOG - You're not... why would I... how can you... OH, never mind! LOL

  Jgnat: How's your back? Are you experiencing increased mobility?

  It was my neck - cervical spine, and yes it is SO much better. Still a little achy and stiff from the surgery but Doc says that will pass in a couple of months. But the little achy I have now is nowhere near the pain I had going into surgery. Amazing!

  I have made this comment many times. It wasn't so long ago the solution they used on me was not available. It is ABSOLUTELY amazing what they can do, especially working that close to your spinal cord. I was in and out of the hospital in 24 hours - and I walked out without even a neck brace. Only a bandage over the incision.

  I found a little 5 minute YouTube video of what they did to me. Actually, they did two things. They pulled my cervical spine back into normal position. It had a reverse curve like you see in this picture:

  They pulled it back into correct position and then performed this procedure on two disks (the video only shows one disk), with titanium plate spanning three vertebrae. (It's part live video, part animation)

  Spectre: I had a bunch of titanium braces put in to fix my shattered vertebrae.

  For me they used titanium to hold the new bones in place. Doc says my bones will grow roots into the cadaver bones and eventually render the plate useless.

  Snare&racket, thanks for the well wishes. I'm already back to work - thinking about bicycle commuting again next week.

  Given the history of lunatic ideas in old literature, it makes sense to ask.

  I even told them I would accept a blood transfusion if necessary. Unfortunately I didn't get to have any. Eh... there's always next time.

  the next time a jw asks you the questions in the title, just tell them about the "two by twos" and the "cooneyites".. they have some similar beliefs as jws but are even more zealous in putting kingdom interests first, living far simpler and less materialistic lives than even zealous jws.

  they reject the triniy as unscriptural.

  they preach in twos.

  And there are fewer Two by Twos and Cooneyites than there are Jehovah's Witnesses. That means that THEIR road is even cramped-er and narrow-er and THAT, folks, is solid evidence that Jesus selected them over all other religions.

  If you are thinking about "Stepping Down" you better do it QUICK!

  the new arrangement for co's to handle deletions (and appointments) means you no longer will be able to give your friends on the body an excuse and step down.

  you will have to answer to the co and most likely have a long uncomfortable chat about everything with him in order to step down.

  so if you have been thinking about stepping down, you need to do it quick before the new arrangement..
