  Help! Spouse thinks JW religion the most logical

  my husband and i were discussing what makes some people become jw's last night.

  i was saying that if i hadn't grown up in it, i would have never been drawn to it at all.

  i'm not a very spiritual person.

  Your best bet is to attack the doctrine of the Faithful and Discreet slave. They say that they are the Faithful and Discreet slave Jesus spoke of in Matthew and once you challenge that doctrine just about everything else crumbles. Without the FADS the authority of the religion is taken away from them, so you could just worship God in the way you want, not them.

  Ask him if he thinks it is logical to believe in a few dirty old men sitting around a table in Brooklyn that have had no knowladge of living in the real world and listen to them rulling the lives of millions of people.

  Is it logical to believe Jesus really selected a group of spiritualistic miracle wheat eating young and naive men to be his spokesmen on earth? ( www.escapethewatchtower.cjb.net )

  Is it logical to believe that God would change his 'unmistakable truth' so many times to fit in with what they say?

  If its logic he is after, tell him to convert to Islam and bow several times to the east whilst worshipping God, as surely God would prefer this method of worship other than a hundred plus braindead pupils muttering the thoughts of 12 dirty old men repetitively in polyester suits.

  We've decided to have a baby! (Advice needed)

  i know that many of you gave me the advice to wait until i'm done with school, but what can i say, i'm stubborn .

  please share your pre-pregnancy and pregnancy tips that either made things smoother or things you wish you has done to make things easier.

  i also want opinions on such things as epidurals, circumcision, nutrition, breast-feeding, money saving tips, etc.

  as we were all told long ago, none of us would have to worry about getting old and dying in this system of things, because the new system was "right around the corner".

  as we all know, that corner was really a circle and the new system is always just out of reach.

  my father, a witness for the last 60 years, is terrrified of dying, seeing as he never thought he'd have to deal with it.

  It's far more comforting to think your loved ones are ALIVE somewhere else, not just dead in the ground.........what comfort is there in that?

  I hate to stick up for old WT doctrine but I'd have to agree with them and say that to me knowing that a loved one is just asleep with no stress is a lot better than thinking they are being tortured and burnt alive.

  But If it's heaven you are thinking of, then yes I would love to think of them in heaven smiling (or probably frowning) down at me.

  Star Trek Deep Space Nine Book Relaunch Series, Any Fans Here?

  a couple of years ago, authors banded together to start a "8th season" of deep space nine with a continuity storyline that each author can pick up from where each book has left off.....so far, the relaunch series has been great!

  joining the cast of ds9 are..... commander elias vaughn - new first officer, replacing colonel kira nerys's old position as first officer.. lieutenant ro laren - chief of security.

  after the dominon war, ro laren joined the ds9 crew despite of th feelings from both the bajorian government and united starfleet of her past involvement with the maquis and her betrayal of disobeying her captain's order from the u.s.s enterprise to round up the rogue fleet (the maquis) who was at war with the cardassians long before the cardassians joined with the dominions.. taran'atar - a former jem'hadar solider, sent by the former constable odo from the gamma quadrant with directives to only observe the daily life of the people residing on ds9 in order to better understand the people and the true meaning of the word, "peace".

  I may support Leicester City

  I may not know the streets around the city I have lived all my life

  I may find it impossible to hold a job down

  I may regret every decision I have ever made

  For me, I suppose it was just a mixture of everything. You are prepared to give something one last chance but when its like this it just gets ridiculous.

  I would never had left simply because of a few assholes within the borg. I used to think that my friendship with Jehovah was more important than a few mindless fools.

  I guess these are the main reasons behind me never setting foot in a KH ever again :

  • United Nations scandal
  • Ray Franz 2 books
  • Silent Lambs
  • GB not being the faithful slave they said they were
  • Doctrinal differences
  • Finding out 587 bce was the date Jeru. fell not 607
  • The thought of never doing what they told me to anymore
  • Freedom

  Does anyone miss those tuneful 'kingdom melodies' ?

  i never liked them one bit, did you ?

  so wonderful to hear proper hymns (not that i'm a churchgoer) but at least they have some fantastic music.

  Yeah some melodies were really rousing and got you in the mood.

  My favourites were 'Hail Jehovahs Firstborn' and 'We're Jehovah's Witnesses'

  I couldnt stand those slow moving ones, really made the meetings that slight bit more boring in my estimation.

  But all is not lost folks ! You can download them today !!!!!!!! Yes, relive those superb tunes right here my friends.
