Hapgood
and
Oxnard Hamster
Both of you wellcome to the board from a just to Junior Member promoted Newbie.
You could have told part of my story: my daughter (Vivamus) is DF-ed too.
What she told me and how she was treated, opened my eyes too + other things.
Finding this forum made me more understanding how she was feeling at the time.
Greven, hope your parents will leave too. inactivety can be a first step.

petespal2002, I am 59 and love to read Harry Potter and lots of others.
Tolkien may have written an amazing story (and I enjoyed the films) but I am not able to read the book. He's not an easy storyteller. (my opinion ofcourse).
We did enjoyed the movies too - even my then 87 old mother and my daughter (25).
I think Harry Potter is for everyone who can read.
I don't buy the book right now - or get it in the library - this time I will waite for the translation this winter.
For the last one: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire -in Dutch translation) we had to waite a pretty long time and I was'nt patient enough, so I got the book (in English) from the library.
When I finally was able to buy it in Dutch, I already knew what was in - no fun to read it then.
And since I have all the books in Dutch , I want this new one too in Dutch. -

What would YOU 'do' for a Klondike bar?
by sf inwould you call watchtower and tell them we are ashamed of them?.
would you call this judge and tell him that he made a lethal ruling?.
would you offer your insights to the right people, who can demand answers and change and get that insane judge off the bench?.

This question came up too with : Do elders feel trapped once appointed?
I've said then:
"It demands on the question how important you feel when you are appointed I think. When there is nothing else in life to be important in....."
but I am sure that it is very difficult, if not nearly impossible to refuse an appointment when given to you. (if you are a good and honest JW ofcourse) -

Being in Hotel New York (in Rotterdam) early at day ? don't think so.
She is only doing the Pizza Hut when she has made a (big) offer to Bacchus.
This morning she called me that she bought lots of drinks with a high alcohol percentage : having a party this evening.
Slovenia is in for a new experience. -

I was just very stupid.
After finishing "the greatest human that ever lived" (not sure if this is the title in English - my book is'nt showing the original title) I though that my mind was made up - and I did not want to start another study each week for several hours. Babtising made an end to all that visits.
I walked over everything that got me troubled (like the slave - saying when they are wrong, thats there business and not mine) and got babtised.
That was 5 years ago - and after that I learned a lot (most through Vivamus) now I am inactive for 2,5 year and not visiting for almost 10 months (with a few acceptions like the memorial and a funeral service.
Feel good the way it is now, and wished I had the knowledge from today that 5 years ago.
But wisdom is coming with the years - and maybe I am growing old enough to be wise......
