  Great post met. Could'nt agree with you more. I asked myself not too long ago, If I had a chance to live permantley in any time period, which one would it be? I chose today. Mostly for the reasons that you listed above.

  jehovah's witnesses are taught that they will live "forever" on paradise earth.. let's say the year is 278,486 (assuming armageddon occurred in 2003).

  the millenium has passed, everyone has been resurrected, and earth has become the true paradise the jws predicted.. only one problem: you've done everything there is to do.

  you've gone every place on earth there is to go.

  matty and i have gotten several books lately.

  right now we are both reading "30 years a watchtower slave" and "awakening of a jehovahs witness".

  both we highly recommend.. anyway in the midst of it all he asked me: when did it turn into a cult?.

  There is no question about it, this is a cult! To prove it, let's say the governing body said to all "It is now unscriptual to celebrate wedding anniversaries". They would listen. Then the gb commands "It is now unscriptual to have any association with worldy people including relatives, you must shun all" They would listen. Then the gb commands "It is now unscriptual to eat any meat". Again they would obey. Now the gb instructs " The scriptures have shown us that taking any medication is demonic, you must refrain from taking any medication even if it means your life" Again millions would obey.

  I actually miss giving talks. I used to give 3 -5 talks a month. It was really quite a high giving talks in front of 150 people ( large cong ) and having their undivided attention. It was also very beneficial for myself preparing them, the mind is very active coming up with ideas.
