I think it would be a beautiful weight drop from the 1200.. my goodness that bike is a tank. But incredibly agile and nimble once you get used to throwing that weight around. Except when once I slid fully loaded into a deep muddy ravine in the French Alps.. took me a good 4 hours to drag 630 lbs of bike out a few inches at a time. I thought I was going to die on that mountain.
The GS800 would be perfect for me for the city.

"if you leave the "truth" you will have a sad sorry life!"
I remember being told that the first time I left in '84'. What a great big lie that was..

I don't get why people feel threatened and and feel a need insult someone merely because he is glaringly leagues above most in intelligence levels and could probably dance rings round just about anyone in here I'd wager on just about any subject he chooses.
Why the petty and small insults?
I for one applaud intelligence and even more so when combined with razor wit. You make interesting and refreshing reading Focus. I tilt my hat to you.

I taught jazz guitar for 9 years. My most satisfying student was a 55 year old British Telecom executive that dabbled a bit with some country guitar albeit very poorly and only in his bedroom.
A few months later from a lesson a week how now plays standards in public jazz jam sessions in various places with a new found confidence and joy.
There are not many things on this earth that can compare with the joy of playing musical instrument well.

What would be your favorite job if you could do anything.?
by new hope and happiness inon the basis that most of us realise the w.t wasnt really the best " job" or way to spend our days, it would be fun to find out what people would really have liked to have done with there lifes and if this is still possible.
or maybe its not even a very realistic ambition just a dream.
in my dreams i stay at home all day and make a living from being a professional artist.maybe i need a phycholgist?.
