while you have discovered the truth about the truth and has continuously researched on it, you cannot help also but to regard the fellowship inside, add perhaps those encouraging teachings which build up faith and spirituality.. the reality is you cannot just turn a blind eye on the goodness in the organization too or shall we say some of its members who are also standing by you.
somehow, you felt the fds food is helping you in a spiritual sense.

The good that they do?
Please tell me about this 'good' as I'm struggling to find any. Jesus gave the command to feed and clothe and take care of the poor. I have never seen a witness feed or clothe any poor person that was not in their own congregation and maybe related by blood.
They have taken the phrase 'especially to those related to you in the faith' and replaced it with 'only those in your click in your own narrow and very specific faith that attends your own meeting hall and is considered by the local BOE to be in 'good standing''.
The WT organisation with it's billions has never once opened a shelter for the homeless and destitute, no food banks for the hungry, not a thing for single struggling mothers or abused women and orphans, no free medical centres for the sick, diseased and dying. No academies, colleges or institutes to educate people. Things practically every major and minor religion on earth has done in some form or other.
But never the Orgites..
They have never given a single cent to any charity ever anywhere. You will not even get a free sandwich at any 3 day assembly.
Nothing.. Zero.. zilch.. nada.They have taken some of the most important words of Christ and nullified them.

Jim Penton's beloved wife Marilyn died today.

marilyn has been battling cancer for about three years and at times it looked like she would win.
but in the last few months the cancer spread.

I do not know these people but 60 years is an incredible time to be with someone. The sadness and feelings of and pain and loss must be indescribable. My heart goes out to this obviously very fine gentleman.

That is indeed one incredible list Focus and I have come across and been through it via other sources but very useful to have it all on once place as you have made it. It's the things in this list that contributed to my breaking free. In fact there was no breaking free.. the mental shackles just fell off like paper chains.
Thank you for sharing. I go back to it occasionally whenever my fickle human mind starts wandering.

I would not describe myself as an atheist.. I have just come to the conclusion that I am no longer going to try to seek God in a 'organisation', a religion, a building, or a book, (or many books as in 66 so called Bible books), or in others opinions.
It seems that spirituality has been turned into an intellectual and academic exercise requiring vast study, the devotion to many books
and endless lifelong research upon research. I'm sick of it as I am sick and weary of the millions of opinions and variations of truth and that every single person claims he or she the 'real' truth.
I simply refuse to accept anything from people any more with their second-hand invented interpretations.
I don't want to find God with my brain either.. If I find him at all I want to find him with my heart and feel him with my spirit. Studying endless scriptures does not help anyone to find God. The living God is not to be found in any building and certainly not between the pages of a book.
According to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity (CSGC) at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, there are approximately 41,000 Christian denominations and organizations in the world.
41,000 different Christian denominations!!! 41,000 different versions of truth from that same one book called the Bible!! And that's just the denominations, with individuals there are as many versions of truth as there are people on earth!
That's insane.
So who is right? Each one thinks that they are.I will no longer trust or rely on any person or any book. I don't need to study or have someone teach be about an old historical antiquated God whose last apparent major interaction with humans was almost 3,300 years ago.
I need nothing less than to experience the 'Living God'.
