My summer camp job experience

this summer i met a russian women i worked at a summer camp for people with developmental disabilities and she is going back to russia in september.

i grew to really like her as a person.

i just feel empty that she is now gone to new york heading beck to moscow we hung out on three seperate occasions and i enjoyed myself and her company .

Why so long between Skype appointments? Does she not have a laptop or something? I never heard anyone in my life say: "Hey let's talk on Skype in 7 days time.."

In my experience such long distance relationships are fraught with difficulty stress and frustration not to mention they can be very expensive. I have been in a few. I had a relationship with a woman that lived 1,484 miles from me. In the first year alone I spent just under £20,000 just on going back and forth visiting her 6 times. Then when you have to leave and come home the feeling of separation and loneliness is worse then you can imagine. It's actually quite horrible.

I would be cautious about getting involved.

You should always stand up to elders... I have found them to be generally cowards.

The air of superiority is the core of being a Jehovah's Witness don't you think ? JW's believe they have all the answers. Their whole existence is based on the idea of "us" and "them". JW's have the idea the common rubble of humanity around them simple do not have the "special knowledge" they have. There is no special knowledge in reality, everything knowable can be known. Even those who leave the WT and see behind the curtain and the immense fraud and arrogance of the "organization" often retain, desperately in fact, the need to be "right" to "have all the answers".

That right there is about the only bit of absolute truth I have read in a long time. It's true of ex-jw's that have left the org but remained some form of annoying hippy Christian and it's true of many ex-jw's that have become hard core absolute cold hearted atheists.

This does not include Objectivetruth who deserves a category all of his/her own own. Buddhist practice detachment by the way not attachment.

Since January 2014, I have noticed a palpable, change in the Tone of some Watchtower Study edition articles.. I have seen areas of these articles that place more importance in Jesus and His Example, than on "Obeying The GB".. These shades of humility and genuine concern for Truth in these writings, have not challenged any of the WT doctrines, but nonetheless there was something there.

Do you mean that the other way around?

I'm not sure which is worse.. a superior arrogant, smug 'I'm right your wrong' atheist or a superior arrogant smug 'I'm right your wrong' Christian. Both extremes are unpleasant.

since many years the nov public wt has only one color and no picture on the front cover.. very strange.

so the design department saves time and can go from door to door ...... .

a friend of mine is trying the 'slow fade' like i did.

he is a third generation witness and comes from a prominent family in his circuit.

his uncle stepped down as an elder because he had doubts and could not serve anymore (although for now he remains a witness in good standing).

Prominent family? What on earth is a prominent family? You mean like the Mafia? Or Cardinals? Military Generals?

The humility of the witness is simply astounding... Jesus would be so proud of the self-important fantasy titles they and their underlings adorn themselves and each other with as though it means anything in the real world, or any world for that matter.

Prominent = big family of professional window cleaners...
