Do you believe that you are going to heaven? If so, then tell her the reason you won't go is that you believe that you are going to heaven and therefore you should partake of the wine and the bread. It offends you that they expect you to just pass it by. You want to follow Jesus command to do this in rememberance of me but you want to do the entire thing, not just halfassed.
Just an idea.
Good Luck.

You gotta love the rumor mill. I can't believe they did that. Stuff like that kind of happened to me to and I eventually disassociated myself to get rid of the harassment. I wish you the best and hope your wife will soon see them for the unloving people they are.
Oh, and WELCOME. Thanks for sharing.

I am disassociated and my parents won't speak to me, accept a phone call from me but will reply hurtfully to my emails inquiring about their health.

This is going to be a tough meeting for me
by truthsearcher ini will be "studying" the chapter about the memorial with my local witness contacts.
as a christian, i find their teachings on christ to be nauseating.. i am looking for a chance to bring out the old russell books and ask them to clear up my confusion about a number of previous teachings.
if anyone thinks of me, and is so inclined, send up a prayer on my behalf for wisdom, clear thinking, and above all that the true love of jesus will shine through me and the spirit will open up some darkened hearts.. ts.

GOod luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That reminds me of when my father saw that my hubby had the Finished Mystery of God on the table and he said we needed to be careful because apostates distribute that book now. We were like uh no, I got it from a publishing company and the copyright is the old one, they couldn't have made any changes to it so it was still written by a JW not an apostate. Dad just said be careful and went on. Looks like that would have been the wake up call huh?

Check out this hypocrital conduct
by avidbiblereader inlast night was my oldest daughters birthday (22), we went out for supper with some friends and family, we went into the texas roadhouse where she serves bar and waits tables, they have this one thing they do for birthdays where all the servers sing, yell and clap, they also ask you to "saddle up" which means to sit on a saddle they bring out on wheels as they all yell and howler, real fun, though!.
well sitting behind us is a whole table of witness from my sister hall that i use to go to, mother with three grown kids (25, 22, 21) and their spouses, they watched and didn't say a word to me and wouldn't even make eye contact with me, oooh i am the bogey man.. well guess what they did after we left, they didn't know my daughter didn't leave yet.
saddled up two of their own, clapped and sang birthday songs..

Is it possible they thought you may be back in or trying to get back in and didn't want you spreading it around the cong what they did? Either way, it looks as if they are on their way out now, so they will soon regret any shunning. It would be classic if they read this and were lurkers.
