omg!!! DOG collars and the clergy - shock.
by hamsterbait inam i right in thinking that calling a clergyman's shirt a "dog collar" is not the accepted terminology?.
maybe this is why non-jw in the past always looked at me funny when i said this.
i thought it was because they were worldlings and prejudiced against me.. was i just using one of the millerite epithets via freddie, and being downright insulting?.

Finally getting shunned...
by bluesbreaker59 inwell my family has been doing it for a while.
but i found it really strange, that i live in an area of town with many jw's and still go to all the normal places, and yet i'd not seen them... last week, walking around downtown, i spotted my "step -aunt", (step mom's side) and she put her head down, and wouldn't acknowledge me.
then i rode up the elevator with her today, same treatment, thought today she made eye contact.

Bad memory
by Mrs Smith inwhen i was in my teen years i spoke to an ms and his wife about the physical abuse i had to endure from my father.
while they acted very concerned nothing was done about it.
no one ever spoke to me about it again and my father was never spoken to either.

job loss
by BlackSwan of Memphis inas of august 1, mr.blackswan will join the ranks of the thousands of unemployed michiganders.. they are shipping his job, along with the rest of production to grand rapids, mi.
which is 2 hours away.. my response was tears.
fear is a big problem.. michigan is just not the place for jobs right now.. so, we are planning on having to look out of state.

My crazy diner with a CO!!!
by thepackage inlast friday i was hagning out with my buddy whose family has faded from the wts, anyways his uncle is a co or so i thought, when we started talking he mentioned that he stoping being a co and now only goes to meetings once in a while with his wife.
when i asked his why he stopped being a co he mentioned three things.
1. committese meeting should not be done.

My JW Friends Visited My Daughter & Wanna Keep It Quiet From Other JWs
by minimus inmy daughter is at home with her new daughter and an older couple visited them in her home and brought some lovely outfits for the baby.
they stayed for about a half hour and ther company was very much appreciated.
the following day they were at a jw get together along with my mom.

She is just trying to make the "friends" at the hall seem like better people than they are because she wants you to come back. It is probably more of an extreme exaggeration than a lie. Hang in there.
