here's an update on me... i'm 18. i'm an atheist.

i'm not making much money.

i did something i promised myself i wouldn't do: i work for witnesses.

I had similar talks with my old man. It really sucks when you realize there is no way to get through to an otherwise intelligent person. It is like banging rocks together. I feel for you. I know how much it hurt me to realize that there was no getting through. Hang in there. (((HUGS))).

as many of you may know, i'm currently an ms and pioneer, and been missing meetings consistently for almost 2 months.

i have been concerned about my dad's reaction to me wanting to leave the org and he's been questioning me about missing meetings.

well i've decided now not to jump through the elders' hoops anymore.

Kudos to you!! Excellent strategy. If things get to hot with the elders, say I am not submitting myself to this and walk out. GOOD LUCK!!

Assisting my mom with her talk. I would sit on the floor and quote a scripture she used when I was signaled. I was 3. My first talk on my own was at age 5. Needless to say, I was never SHY.

ok first of all i want to apologize for not coming in more often and saying hi, i guess im just lazy.

richierich did show me that thread from last week with yall asking about me and i intended to post but i completely forgot and other things got in the way but i do want to say thank you for being so kind and caring.

ok so i had my first elders meeting the other day with the subject at hand as "bad association" seeing that my parents caught me sneaking out to hang with my "worldly" girlfriend and her friends.

r. f. wondered how many lurkers there are on the board.

i don't know the answer, but i will admit that i since a few years am one of them.

i read here almost every day.. like many others here i am an ex-jw, left the organisation about 25 years ago and never regretted it.. .

So I used this illustration..about the Dateline show...got "cautioned"

a few years ago when i was still going to meetings, but no longer an elder, i was talking to two brothers in my driveway (our house was a 'hangout') and brought up the dateline program and how the society had tried to df some of the jw's that went on the show, before the show aired to discredit them.

one of the brothers 'cautioned' me.... .
