You can see if there is a group in your area of ex-jehovah witnesses already supporting each other or you can start a group on there. We have one here in the Triad North Carolina and it has become well supported.

Help/feedback on starting a support group
by Dawn ina few friends and i would like to start up a support group for x-jw's in our area.
the longer i am out and the more i have healed, the more my heart breaks for those that are still floundering about not knowing what to do or where to go.
my life has evolved into such a wonderful beautiful thing - freedom and peace - i just wish this for so many others that are still suffering.

Now That We've Stopped Meetings, What Should We Expect???
by minimus inmy daughter stopped all meetings in the spring.my wife and i went to only a few meetings in the early summer and haven't been to a meeting in over 6 weeks.
my elder friend stops by my work every so often and recently has asked, "am i going to see you at the meeting tonight, min?
" i have said now on 3 occasions, "not tonight......" the other day another elder friend called me out of the blue and asked me how things are going.he said,.he'd like to come by my work and talk a little.

You can SUCESSFULLY turn down an offer to visit you in your home or at the hall. I have been offered a sheparding call twice and turned down bothe sucessfully. The question: When would be a good time for me and bro. ___ to stop by and have a chat with you and your husband? Reply: I really don't want a visit. Their Counter Reply: Well we just want to encourage everyone we can, we all need encouragement you know. My Counter Reply: I understand and appreciate your concern for me but I really just don't want a visit. Their reply: Well it is entirely up to you.
They may offer to do the visit at the KH or at their house as well, but you can just decline. It is easy once you do it. GOOD LUCK!!

What musical groups or songs were bad according to JWs?

for me it was the entire def leopard hysteria album - bad heavy metal told it was demonic, i listened to it in secret, silk's "freak me" - a virgin listening to a song about hot sex?

I remember at like ever DC after Snoop and Dre were big, they would say we shouldn't listen to debasing rap music like the popular "snoopy dogg" And they ignorantly said it wrong EVERY FREAKING CONVENTION!!! All the kids in the audience would laugh and wisper to their friends, he just called Snoop doggy dog "Snoopy dog" HAHAHA.

AWESOME!!! Glad all went well. You would be amazed how many children are extremely happy when they hear they don't have to go to a meeting or out in field service any more. It is great. Sat. Morn cartoons at last!!!!

Incompatibility

I would have to say yes. If I were stranded on a desert island with some people, I would just kill myself or them depending on the situation. I have a deep seated hatred for some people. I just can't stand them. I try to be more christian and love them, but that ugly monster named hatred comes out again as soon as those people say something REALLY STUPID and I think "God why do you let them waste your oxygen?" Of course those people are few and far between THANK GOODNESS.

Do You Try To Make People Feel Comfortable Around You?
by minimus insince this board is filled with so many different personalities, do you ever go out of your way to try to make people feel good?
do we ever consider that we might make some persons feel unwanted because of constant criticisms?
i've communicated with one poster recently that's become discouraged over how some people constantly berate or disparage.....if you knew you were hurting somebody's feelings, would you do so intentionally?

Possibly, I can be a mean drunk if I am PMS'ing.
Would you re-evaluate how or what you say?
I do that alot. I am pretty brash and straight forward, kind of "no holds barred", but at work I am very kind to everyone. On weekends I avoid having long conversations with my brother in laws girlfriend because she twists words and gets very offended (whatever) and I don't cuss around my parents, witnesses or fellow employees, but at home I cuss like a sailor.

I Don't Hate JW's. I Just Think They're Wrong

whether it's the individuals or the organization, some vehemently abhor everything connected to jehovah's witnesses.
i do not personally hate anyone.
