My Update
by R.F. inhello all.. as some of you know recently i've realized the importance of really examining the jws yet i'm still a part of it(ms, reg pioneer).
well i have as of late put alot more time into bible reading(with different translation) with a more open mind without the watchtower blinders and it has been very refreshing to me.
the more i read about first century christianity and the message they preached the more i realize just how off the the wt really is.

I too feel your pain. It it so frustrating when you can't open their eyes because it seems so obvious. I personally have just given up. I admire your courage to continue. Hang in there.

Is shunning scriptural? At all?
by Open mind init's obvious that the jw view of shunning goes way beyond anything called for in the bible.
1 cor 5:11-13 says,(nwt) "but now i am writing you to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.
for what do i have to do with judging those outside?

If you take the scripture completely literally you would not mix in company with them (eating, drinking, associating recreationally) until they are removed from their midst or removed from the congregation and no longer considered to be a "brother".

Any Answers to Some Questions?
by sammielee24 inam i correct in asserting, that according to the way that the jehovah's witnesses discipline their members, that baptism is the only way that you are one of jehovahs witnesses?.
a person committing an offence that results in disfellowshipping, must be a baptized jw in order for the punishment to occurr?.
a person who is disfellowshipped or disassociated is announced to the congregatin as 'no longer one of jehovahs witnesses'?.

Got a phone call today I hope I never get again!
by Bumble Bee inmy husband called me today - and right away i knew from the sound of his voice something was wrong.
he didn't say much, just that he had an accident at work and was at the hospital, could i please come right away.
thankfully he was not seriously physically hurt, but he was in shock and they had to give him some lorazepam to settle him down.

Almost vomited this weekend
by sinis inwell, i grabed the pile of shit watchtower mags my wife has been bringing home and decided to look through a few since i had some down time this weekend.
i haven't read one in years... jesus christ i almost vomited!!!!

Yeah, lilly father in law is nuts. The only person I knew that worked outside in dress clothes was a former missionary and I don't think he had any other clothes. He usually wore a short sleeve dress shirt and some light weight dress pants/docker things. Never a tie. A tie is just CRAZY!!!
Hooking up??? They are trying to be hip I guess. Use the terms the kids use. That is so 90's.

Wife finally sees truth about "the truth"
by jakes inwell it has finally happened.my wife is not going back to the meetings again.as you would probably read in my previous posts, i have written a book about my experience in the watchtower organisation which is on the verge of being published.she still tried to cling to what little belief she had in the borg and did not want to read my manuscript.we discussed many of the issues and concerns i had about the watchtower but most of the times it ended in a heated argument.. i was quite surprised when she approached me about two weeks ago and asked to read my manuscript.after reading it she handed it back to me and said she fully supports me in publishing this book.her eyes have been opened to the deception and lies.i think she and a friend had a bad experience calling on one of her so-called jw friends.furthermore, she did not attend this past weekends circuit assembly..
hooray!!!.
all i have to do now is to introduce her to all you wonderful people here on jwd.. jakes.
