I'm sorry but I find this attitude repulsive. Have we learned nothing??? What are we? Back in the '50's or in some culture where a woman's only worth is in the fact that a guy has never been between her legs???

You know, you really should have said that "No guy wants used goods...but 'nice' girls...that special class of women reserved for marriage instead of sex...they have to just keep their mouths shut and accept that men are going to sleep around. Before and after marriage."

I don't think it's wise for either sex to be bangin a mile long laundry list of people. I don't think women should be virgins prior to marriage, either. And I think it's offensive when some guys promote that idea (just to be fair...edited to add...and just as offensive when other women do).

You know what? There are a lot of decent women who are not virgins. They have as much right to enjoy sex and have sexual partners as men do.

And I think they deserve an apology for statements like that. You just slammed every female member of this board who ever had sex outside of marriage (and offended a few that didn't).

There was a group out in my townhouse development today (Christmas morning). I saw them from my bedroom window while I was getting dressed. A couple of adult sisters, a little boy, and a jr-high-aged girl (who was hanging back as far from the door as she possibly could, poor thing - she was down the sidewalk!).

We, of course, don't get our door knocked on since I wrote a do not call letter to the congregation before we even moved in. (oh, darn)

having been "out" for many years and also having family that has been "in" for just as many, it occurs to me that i hear the same tired old dub put-downs with monotous regularity.. these include:.

"giving up smoking is easy for new witnesses.

they get special help from jehovah, you see.".

Well, if you'll accept a comment from a middle-aged married lady, rather than one of the guys...my guess is that you're "picky" about the wrong things.

Maybe you only want somebody who looks like they came straight out of a "Girls Gone Wild" video, but doesn't act like it. (could be wrong, ignore me if I am)

I'm guessing there are a lot of nice women in your area, who share your standards of behavior, but you aren't meeting them or paying attention if you do because they don't look like bimbettes.

I say this because I've known so many men who are balding and in their forties and working at mediocre jobs, who constantly complain because "no one will go out with them." What they mean is, no one who looks like a playboy playmate will go out with them. When their women friends try to set them up with someone who is more their age, or who is carrying a few extra pounds, they're not interested.Not that you're forty-ish and balding, but if you aren't finding the right women then it's at least possible you're looking in the wrong places.

How the hell do you get over someone you love so much????

When you can't get along, which is what it sounds like your problem was? You get over them by getting married to them and having them get on your every nerve for several years til you hate their guts.

I'm guessing that's not what you want to hear, but it's the best I can do. You already found out you don't get along. Concentrated pain of a breakup is better than protracted pain of staying together when your relationship makes you feel like you're bound together with razor wire...every move cuts both of you.

Sorry, hun...the best I can say is try real hard to stop focusing on how much you miss him and any good qualities he had (you can remember the good stuff later, when you're over him). Focus on getting on with your life...even if it's "what am I going to fix for supper?" and "what will I watch on tv tonight?"

we all know that(those who pay attention anyway, the others who dont are foolish) christmas cometh from a pagan celebration of a "false god", and it still to this day is ignorant.

the fact is that nobody knows when jesus was born, and nobody wont know till after the end into the beginning.

and the fact that the mothers and fathers of this world swears that they "love their children" but also lies to them about santa, people believe in fiction more then they do reality, reality is god and his wonderful creation.

First of all, not every religion has mist as a part of it's services. There'd have to be pretty high humidity for that...

Second of all, many religions don't believe whatsover in your God, your Bible or Jesus, so your claim to "every religion" is bogus.

Third, most of us have been beaten over the head with Biblical threats til we're immune. It just doesn't work on us anymore. I suggest you find another sandbox to kick in.

ok, this is just a funny thought.. it is noted that saint nicholas, who attended that first ecumenical council, got so upset with arius' insistence that jesus was only a man that he punched arius in the face (and got his bishop status revoked until several bishops reportedly had visions that he should be restored...).

i guess that could explain why jws (=arius) hate christmas (=st.

They don't celebrate anything.

They call is "celebrating" the memorial, but it's not even close to a celebration...just another damn meeting you have to sit through...although some sisters do use it as an excuse to get a new outfit.

But as far as a real celebration where the kids come home to visit and there's a special dinner? Nothing. Not one thing. I always used to wonder why they didn't at least celebrate some Jewish holiday, at least, it wouldn't have been 'pagan.'

I think there's some reason that they don't want peole getting together to have fun.

Is it true that JW Missionaries...

is it true that jw missionaries sign a legally binding contract with the wtbt society to say that they cannot work for pay, even casually, or own a business for the duration of their contact to the society.. i have a jw friend who's a missionary out in the middle of nowhere who told me so a while ago, wondered if anyone else knew anything?

I'm sure the society wouldn't give anyone a thin dime if they weren't forced to, and could instead guilt them into moving there and supporting themselves. However, some countries will not allow people such as missionaries to come in and work unless they can prove they're getting an outside income. The government of an already poor country does not want westerners coming in to preach to them and taking up scarce jobs that could go to their own people.
