  Feels like we tried to fight a war and lost, huh?

  Naw, I never admit defeat. Somebody's out there listening, even if we don't know it. If nothing else, getting them to actually admit things (like that it was the mom's fault for going to the elders) may make interested people steer clear, and JWs who can still see how awful what some say is, admit it at least to themselves.

  Part of my frustration is not being able to cut loose and tell them in clear enough language exactly how vile I think they are. In person.

  You know, I'm starting to rethink the idea that some people should be destroyed by a vengeful god. It's starting to sound really good. The ones I think should be destroyed are the elders who df abuse victims, Bethel legal, and any JW who defends them on this issue. And I hope it's really horrible and painful and bloody, and starts with the realization that the society was never the "truth" or the right religion, and goes downhill from there!

  AAAAGH! I sometimes post at another board, which has several active JWs who defend the society at all costs, even if that means blaming df'd victims of molestation and abuse.

  GOD THEY ARE VILE!! Sometimes it's like wading in a sewer, the filth they spew. On one hand they'll say that 'independent thinking' is dangerous and heading toward apostacy, then on the other they'll say it's ridiculous for a JW wife to go to the elders rather than the police if her husband is abusing their kids. One even said the mother in question was responsible to Jehovah God for going to the elders and not going to the police.

  GOD I am about frothing at the mouth! Why do I do this? Truthfully, it's not usually this upsetting. Part of me wants "interested ones" to see how ugly the society and its members really is. Part of me just can hardly let the JWs lie unchallenged.

  Days like today, I end up spitting cat hair. You know, if it was ever justified that anybody be destroyed by a vengeful god, I think it would be for JWs who defend the society and blame the victim like this!! Perhaps Sekmet would be interested...or Kali!

  The dumbest thing I did as a witness

  when i was 14 or so, my attention got directed to queen.

  and i loved them.

  i'd save my allowance to buy cd's, posters, books etc from them.

  The hidden stash consisted mostly of hardrock metal and punk and some hardcore, but were mostly in the stash because of the covers...my parents didn't check my CD's by listening to them, just looked at the cases. ohh, how I switched cd's from cover to cover heheheh

  Wow. When I was hiding stuff from my parents, CDs hadn't been invented yet. CDs weren't even around the first time I was in college. When I was a kid I was hiding 45s and LPs...among my Bee Gees, Barry Manilow and John Denver records...

  I'm having a hard time with the fact that an adult hid CDs from their parents...I guess I am really that old. We need a smiley icon with gray hair and a cane.

  Help!! Baby Birds have invaded!!

  about a month ago, i rescued a bird from our bathroom vent and told mr. scully that we needed to install some screening over the opening so that she would not build a nest inside the vent.

  i even went to the home depot and bought some screen.

  all he had to do was go up on the ladder and install the freaking screen.. did he listen to me?

  ...once I was staying at the home of a friend-of-a-friend I'd never met. Those of us who were traveling were up before the family who lived there were the next morning, and the family cat was very intently trying to convince me it was time to feed the cat (don't ask me how I can understand what they want...I just can). I kept telling him there was a dry food bowl right there. My 2 friends were rolling on the floor that the cat had ignored them til I got up, at which time he walked right over to me and started 'talking' to me.

  When the lady of the house got up and came into the kitchen, I said, "I'm sorry, you can think I'm insane if you want, but your cat's been trying to convince me he's supposed to be fed for about a half hour now. I can see his food dish is full." She laughed and said, "Oh, my husband gives him canned food every morning. That's funny, he never bugs anybody else about it, but he won't let my husband rest until he feeds him!"

  I've also had other people's cats inform me their water dish is empty and they're thirsty. One time the neighbor's cat howled at me from their roof until I went over and knocked on the door (it spent lots of time on their flat roof and never did it before). Turns out the window it went in and out of accidentally got shut.

  What I want to know is...how do they unerringly head for me ??

  Rayzorblade: I always enjoy reading your stories. I especially enjoy reading people's stories where circumstances lead them to help and care for animals or people who need help. We "apostates" aren't such a bad lot, now are we??

  You mean everybody doesn't rescue finches who have flown into picture windows (cold-cocked himself...he sat on my finger until he woke completely up, [he wasn't quite sure about me at first] then flew off).

  Or tame feral cats and find them homes?

  Or have the squirrels in their yard come up on the porch and look in the window wanting to know why the feeder's empty...or to let you know the birdbath's empty and their thirsty??

  Hubby says all animals think I'm their momma...'cept human animals

  That's how the dubs got ahold of me...the caring for the animals thing...

  I was telling hubby about all the Queen and Prince fans on this board. He laughed and said, "Yeah, that's what 'took us down'...the society was right. That bad music'll get ya!!"

  I prefer to think of it as your soul still liking what it likes, no matter what you try to do to it!

  I can not wait to hear what Prince has to say about these years he blew off with the JW's, that is hoping he sees the the real "truth" about the WT, and tells them to kiss his little naked hiney.

  ME TOO! It just makes me sick when I think of Larry Whateverhisnameis (I don't remember either) using the death of Prince's infant son to lure him into the "truth"

  Makes my hubby sick, too...he thinks 'Feel You Up' is the horniest song he's ever heard ... along with that whole disc it's on, on "The hits, the B sides" (I couldn't believe he spent so much on a cd set! He's so cheap!!

  Oh Viv, I love Freddy to this day. Their music takes me back to high school and can you believe since I never got to watch much tv, before MTV was out,,,,,,,, I had no idea Freddy was gay...... Even the name Queen didnt tip me off, talk about naive.

  You weren't alone! All us kids in my little midwestern town thought they called themselves Queen because they were British (Elizabeth and all ). I guess we just couldn't imagine that anybody was actually...(whispered) homosexual! We were such goobs.

  I wasn't a big Queen fan til I met my husband. That changed quick!

  i was an aux.

  pioneer 4 or 5 months a year when my seasonal job was over.

  I pioneered within a year of getting baptised. I had friends (in other congs) who were pioneers. It was hard in our cong. We usually only had 1 or 2 reg pioneers, and it was hard to find someone to go out with everyday. Those who were successful usually lived in the same town as most of the rest of the cong, where the most attended service meetings were.

  I remember when the PO's daughter was the only pioneer when I was thinking of pioneering. Her mom made the comment to me that sometimes pioneers have to work by themselves. I told a female pioneer/elder's wife friend in another congregation that. She about had a cow at the idea, told me that their CO said even if you can't get your hours in, sisters were never to go out alone.
