A not so loving phone call....
by new hope and happiness ini recently got a letter in my pillar box asking me to attend a meeting at the k.h.
i ignored the " kind" request.. this was folloed up by a " loving" phone call with the question " do i believe in the organisation" my reply.
" anyway what pissed me off was during the " loving" phone call i realized there was another " brother" listning in.

THe last time I saw my mum was just after the birth of my son. She came to visit us at the time (we live 1000km apart) to take care of my daughter whilst we were at the hospital.
Just after the birth of my son (I think it was the following day or two days later), my mum was about to leave to visit my sister (who lives 2 min. away). Suddenly she stared at me and out of nowhere she asked me "Do you still believe in the organisation". She really took me by surprise. I didn't know where that came from. She knew I wasn't going to the meetings and that I had a youtube channel where I post videos, but at the time there were not even explicitely "apostate". She stood there in front of me waiting for an answer. I asked her my she was asking me that, and she didn't respond. She said "are you still Jehovah's Witness". And said yes, I still was one of them officially so ... yes. And then she couldn't stop putting pressure on me to tell her I didn't want to be a JW anymore. I told her it was between me and Jehovah, that she would be the first to know if I left the org. She left the house very angry, and I was still stunned. Then she decided to stay at my sister for the rest of her stay here.
After the went back home, she contacted all my JW FB friends to tell them I was an apostate and she started shunning me.So loving.

I want to grow my hair back out!
by onlyastory ina few months prior to baptism i had shoulder length hair which i loved and had wanted ever since i was a child.
i remember sitting with an elder during a bible study and asking him point blank if i 'had' to cut my hair.
whilst the answer was given slightly awkwardly the answer was a no, "there are no rules that say you have to cut your hair".

I don't know if you can get disfellowshiped for that, but you'd probably receive some counselling from the Elders.
I too had long hair and cut them when I wanted to become a publisher. It was obviously stopping things to move forward...When I started fading in 2011 the first thing I did was letting my hair grow back. I have them below my shoulders now and it feels so good ! Do it !
