I think it is a personal decision. We hope to have 1 (or 2 max) as we want to make sure we can afford to provide them with a good life, help them with university, sports etc.

What weird habits do you have?
by JH ini always go to bed naked, even in the winter.
i eat at odd hours, whenever i'm hungry, and that happens fast.

My husband always laughs cuz when I eat candies (ie: smarties or skittles) I color code them and eat a group of one of every color. I was doing this in a training class once and noticed the instructor (and eventually the group at the table) were all watching me. I felt like such a dork.

Just finished reading some stories written about my husbands parents, grandparents etc who lived in the internment camps during the war. It really opened my eyes to why they are so family oriented and how much strength of character they have. Tough read though since I actually know the people and it is very emotional experiences.
Regularly I read anything by Patricia Cornwell, Tami Hoag, John Grisham, Kristin Hannah, Nora Roberts/J.D Robb.

Losing weight (diet) encouragement thread
by TresHappy inlike many of us, i have struggled with weight all of my adult life.
i came into this world weighing over 10 lbs, and it seems it has been a struggle for me almost ever since.
i lost 70 lbs about 7 years ago, and kept it off for 5 years, however i have put most of it back on.

Good work! I recently joined a gym and although my first month I only made it twice a week I am committing to 3x a week this month at the gym & then working out at home in between if I feel up to it. My goal is to lose about 20 -25 lbs. But I don't really want to "diet" since I love food. Plus I started going for trail rides on my mountain bike.

Strange Memories..
by breal inabout 6 or 7 years ago after being df'd and shunned by family and friends for so many years.. i got to thinking that perhaps if i tried to get reinstated.
not entirely sure that i really wanted to or if it was simply an idea to do this and then just did a slow fade (if that is really possible) - then i would be able to be around my family and friends like old times again.
i even attended a few meetings in the new city i had moved to.

Personality Types
by breal inrecently i have run into a few people that wanted to discuss this topic.
i believe i am a type a or driver personality although i know it goes alot deeper than this but confused as i took two tests and came out as esfj and isfj.
imho and based on human nature i have felt that people tend to romantisize there own perceived personality type.. i am interested in this from the standpoint that perhaps what we perceive as our personality type may not be how we come accross to others?!

Spaznik - "Trust" is an issue since I gave you my screen name in "trust" not expecting you to use my posts to personally attack me via email while posting on the forum as though you are trying to be all supportive like.
kgfree - That book sounds great! I love the title. Good spin in the "j" part I'll keep it in mind.
Mulan - hee hee - I hear ya about the "j" part but after what kgfree said it actually doesn't sound so bad
Intuit - Neat - I am going to get my hubby to take the test see what he comes out.

Things my Dad taught me
by DanTheMan inthings my dad taught me.
children don't need encouragement or coaching - unspoken expectations and incredulousness and anger when they are not met are the way to go.. newspapers, national geographic magazines, and fraternal organizations are much more interesting and more worthy of a time investment than children are.. children are noisy nuisances.
keep reminding them of this by yelling whenever they make too much noise, accidentally get in your way, or otherwise annoy you or complicate your life.

Lady Lee - your poem just about made me cry! You are very talented.
My biological dad actually told me that I was not as special to him as my oldest sibling since I was not the oldest & before he walked out on us he didn't have a chance to get to know me. He related it to how any guy will always love his first car the most....He continued to introduce my siblings as his son and daughter - while I was the "other one". On summer & winter holidays he would take my sister for a visit and leave me at home with my mom. Oh I could go on... He taught me that if I ever have children I will do everything in my power to treat them equally cuz not only did his actions affect me it had unfortunate negative impacts on my relationships with siblings as well.
My step dad taught me what it means to be loved unconditionally. He taught me what it means to be a real father.
The "dad" I adopted after I moved to BC taught me I can accomplish anything I set my mind to and how to laugh at myself.
