  Wedding....

  i have been df'd for a little over a yr now.

  i am living with my bf of over 2+ yrs now and we aren't engaged yet, but we've talked about it and know it's going to happen just not exactly when.

  but anyways, right after my df'ing i asked my mom if they would at least attend my wedding someday.

  My mother, step father and younger brother attended my wedding. My father and other brother did not reply to the wedding invitation. My sister was unable to attend due to timing/work and other obligations but was very sweet to have sent a card and present. The wedding was outside at a country club and completely non-religious (our choice - not to please anyone else in doing it this way)

  My boss, who was more like a dad to me, walked me down the isle - which was very special. Hopefully you will be able to think of someone else who could walk you down the isle, or you could walk down with your partner or on your own....lots of different ways it's done now. Our wedding was attended by my husbands family and many dear friends.

  At first I was disappointed/upset that people are unable or unwilling to attend but then I decided to focus on what the day was really about and to and celebrate with those people that were able to attend and wanted to be there. The day could not have been more perfect!

  So much can change from the time one dreams of there wedding, to being engaged, to the actual wedding date... it is quite a ride but enjoy it when your time comes and hopefully it will still be a dream come true for you.

  Discuss it if religion or the topic comes up with friends/coworkers..otherwise I don't bring it up.

  Had a hard time explaining why half my "family" would not attend my wedding and why my father would not walk me down the isle to the in-laws before our wedding... they simple don't understand how a religion can cause such divisions in a family.

  "Congratulations" - WHY?

  why is it a social custom to say "congratulations" to a guy when his wife/gf has had/is having a baby?.

  what has he done to deserve the sentiments?

  all he's done is have an orgasm and spurt some semen into her?

  Hmmm?interesting question.

  I usually congratulate the expectant parents because believe it or not for some couples it is not that easy to conceive. It can be like winning the lottery. 1 in 6 couples (I believe) are found to have fertility issues and even with two perfectly healthy people there is like only a low percent chance of getting pregnant in any given month.

  Although I usually say best wishes cuz it is like wishing them a happy, healthy 9 months until the new family member arrives.

  I asked for help, someone to study with me and go in service with me. No response. So much for sheparding the flock. Ah well - worked out for the best in the end cuz that may have just prolonged the inevitable.

  Yesterday we bought our Very First Christmas Tree!

  well, actually, i did, but with the blessings of the family.

  it's fake (too many allergies in the house to risk a real one), pre-lit, and 7 feet tall.

  i think it's going to be gorgeous.

  Christmas trees are so beautiful and really get ya in the spirit!

  A good way to get it decorated the first year is if you are having a xmas party anyway have a tree trimming party. Usually everyone who comes will bring a decoration (instead of usual bottle of wine etc) and it makes for a fantastic tree and wonderful memories in years to come.

  Usually we buy one new ornament every year that is special too, like Lady Lee.

  Sinuitis and a cure?

  for the past two months, i have been fighting one cold after another, but what seems to never leave is the burning in my nose and throat.

  six days ago my doctor perscribed cephalexin 500mg (antibiotic), but so far i am still miserable.

  while looking online, many websites want to sell their various cures, usually for about $35.00 us.

  anyone had the shakes before?

  well it has been 3.5 days since i had a smoke...i know your probably sick of hearing about it but, i really depend on your support here.. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((fourm))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))).

  there has to be people here that have quit.did you have the shakes just from quiting smoking?

  i have had some real long days and nights.. i have drank water, walked a million miles,chewed gum and even took up knitting to keep my hands busy but cant get over how much i am.

  you might want to make sure the level of patch you are on is the right one based on how much you smoked before you quit. I was never able to use the patch cuz I got the shakes too. Zyban works for some people. make sure you clean out all your smoking reminders (Ashtray) and anything that can smell like smoke. maybe buy an air freshener for car/home...try to change your routine a bit to keep your mind off it.

  i used to chew on straws and carry a few cut up ones around cuz some are about the width of a smoke and they can keep both your hands and mouth busy...

  also lots of water and try to exercise some if you are able.

  other people have tried accupuncture, or being hypnotized...

  i wrote this paragraph and got to thinking about it.

  Yes that is very sad and true. Some were even labelled in such a way when they did nothing wrong prior to being DF'd. (although speaking from experience I more than made up for it after being df'd)

  Status Change ...?

  okay, and this weekend was extra grand because my new dance partner and i have quite hit it off ... his name is john.

  this weekend was the weekend that we decided to move the relationship to the next level, past the dance partnertm stage, and into the coupletm stage!

  dancing and wining and dining and wooing his way into my heart for the past couple of months.http://www.harrisonresort.com/ ) it rained most of the weekend and we did not seem to notice ... hmmmm.... it seems estee is officially part of a "couple" now .... *sigh* .

  Sex,Sex, and more Sex????

  now that i have your attention,i would like to know if some of you experienced teenage parents could give me some advice.you see i have a teenage boy.he is going to be 15 real soon.the topic sex has come up many times in the past and i usally just pass it off to his dad.

  ( i think that that is dads territory..lol)i have to say we have a pretty good open communication when it comes to most things.this weekend though,my husband says he is going to actually buy him some condoms and show him how they work.my problem is this.

  (a) my son knows that we really think that sex should be saved for the one you love.

  Probably a good idea for him to have a talk with you & his dad about it. Being 15 he has probably talked about this with friends. Plus some schools offer a course like health services which often time include this subject matter of sex & condoms etc...so the information is there you may want to be part of the delivery.
