  i am 46 and have been a jw for only 6 years.

  i was doing ok until about a month ago.

  we were having an international convention and i heard the brother that had to pick up 2 of the members of the governing body had to get a background check done on him and his wife.

  Question for active trolley publishers. Are you told not to approach anyone unless they approach you as part of your trolley training?

  Cool that this thread has been bumped. I just came back from a trip downtown in my small Canadian town. I seen my first JW trolley on the corner of the municipal building. Very weird concept. Two JW's just standing there holding up a tract and there was not even anybody walking by them. Of course it's all a sham and just about counting easy time. The JW religion has gone bat-shit crazy.

  there was a convention in milwaukee from june 20th-22nd.

  the witnesses literally took over our hotel!

  they were more demanding than i remember when i was a kid.

  Eight questions about Nathan Knorr

  i have some questions about nathan knorr, the third president (1942-1977) of the wtbts.

  accurate answers are welcome.. 1) how did it come about that knorr was made president of the wtbts in 1942 after the death of joseph rutherford?

  rutherford as we know was an usurper inheritor of russell's wtbts in late 1916 after russell went to his reward.

  It was amazing to be to find out how weird and dysfunctional the first 4 Presidents all leaders of the Watchtower Society were.

  Focus.....I've been out since 1995 and only mainly know history on the first 4 Presidents of the WTS. Afterwards, I think there was at least a guy named Adams and one named Jaracz since then, but I know nothing about how weird or dysfunctional they were. I thought I read a post the other day where someone claimed Jaracz had at least 1 child molestation allegations raised against him. Please enlighten us if you have any info on other WTS Leaders and how weird and dysfuctional their personal & married lives were.

  i mentioned a few elders on one of the highest viewed judicial committee videos filed bk, one of them has done it 3 times and feels no remorse!

  my post is not to attack people who really need to avail themselves of a legal process because bad things happen to good people.

  the economic climate had and can change radically!

  I think for most JW's that file bankruptcy it's comes down to two things. (1) They believe the end is coming, so they live outside their means and rack up debt with the hopes that the end comes without them having to pay it back. (2) Others probably just feel as JW's they are superior to others, so evil big business & banks don't deserve to get paid back in full.
