You are absolutely right to be upset with her, however you seem to be learning your limitations. You respect her rights to go, and no doubt provide the means of her support to do so, then you find out the JW bat-shit crazy cult leaders are shitting on you for having an education, and basically teaching your wife to not have that as a goal for your child together. Good luck working it out.

oh dear I think I messed up and pushed too hard
by Frazzled UBM inreading all the posts on the wt study on higher education and careers really fired me up yesterday.
i have 2 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate degerees and a career as a result which allows me to provide well for my jw wife and son.
i was already unhappy because after 5 or 6 weeks of not going and appearing to be making progress she went back on sunday for the second sunday in a row and as usual was away all day.

DEC 2013 WT Article - Slave for Jehovah - warning: ranting ahead
by ohnightdivine inthis morning's wt study almost made me vomit, stand up, pick up my bag and rush to the door.. of course it never happened.
instead, i was able to make some nice drawings on my tablet and notepad.. if you replace the name jehovah with watchtower, or the governing 8 men, it would really make sense.. what's up with all that nonstop guilt-mongering about education and having a decent job?!.
most people look down on the uneducated, and i remember, when i didn't have a job, nobody cared!.

Yes, the religion that knocks college is filled with hypocrisy when it asks for skilled volunteers, knowing their skills are gotten by attending college
And also the religion that forbids life saving blood transfussions for it's members is filled with hypocrisy when it is factionally sucking down the blood supply without a member one making a blood donation.

Prepare for meetings??
by Jen1 indo you prepare for meetings?
if i go i spend a few minutes underlinging my books/watchtower.. i have noticed that those who do the micks especially notice when your stuff is not underlined, and comments are made after the meeting, not so gentle hints, about study and preperation!
in other words i am being told off, its usually the ones who are highly critical of everything i do, sometimes their whole family seems to be straining to see if my stuff is underlined, i know this because i heard the daughter to family wisper her watchtower is not underlined!.

As an Apostate,
I don't often highlight the Watchtower.
But when I do, I prefer to use black.

Did you think Dinosaurs were destroyed in the Flood?
by LoisLane looking for Superman inin our jw bible, they placed a friendly dinosaur on the inside front cover on the old time map of the middle east.. you look at that, and see where the placement to where the garden of eden is and that was the image i got in my mind.
dinosaurs lived, but were too big to save in the flood, and besides they had outlived their purpose of fertilizing the earth.
i feel stupid for the thinking i had when i was 'in'.. is that how you 'thought' when you were 'in'?.

my mother told me that the dinosaurs were used.............. and of course to provide fuel in our days.
LOL.......there must have been a hell-of-a lot of Dinosaurs on earth to provide millions of barrels of oil per day and billions of barrels in oil reservoirs. I underestimated the tunnelling ability of T-Rexes to dig that far down with those little T-Rex arms.

this week's wt study
by thedog1 ini conducted the wt study tonight on higher education.
i wondered what the reaction of the bros and sis would be.
there was no deviation from the idea that a university education is not a good idea.

It's amazing what this Cult led by their 8 Governing Body goons can get JW's to do with their & their families lives.
Be convinced to throw away the opportunity of getting a good education or training for a good paying job or career with benefits in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to sacifice their lives or their children's lives by refusing a life saving blood transfussion based on wacky bible verse interpretations in order to die for the Cult.
Be convinced to shun their own parents, children, family members or life long friends in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to not turn in pedphiles within their membership to the authorities, because of the "two witness rule" in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to remain single or childless their entire life in order to serve the Cult.
Be comvinced to peddle the literature of this religious publishing corporation for many hours a month in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to go to prison over some of this religion's wacky teachings in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to allow your lifestyle choices to be governed in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to have your sex life governed in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to have no association with anyone not in the cult in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to be thought of as a weirdo by those not in the cult in order to serve the Cult.
Be convinced to do & believe all the other bullshit associated with being a Jehovah's Witness in order to serve the Cult.

The JW religion is works based judgemental religion. Your spirituality is judged by the members based on your works of what the organization thinks is righteous. The underlining or highlighting of a study lesson is evidence of a work you did to show your righteous spirituality to others. Every facet of the JW religion & lifestyle is like that. (Field Service, grooming, clothing, etc.)

Education Double Standard
by Tech49 inthis is the kind of thing that really burns me.. .
wtbts holds out an extreme double standard in regards to education.
most, if not all, of you know how they feel about obtaining an education past high school (in the u.s.).

I often think about how my life would be if I had been allowed to pursue my passions.
XstructX.....I am so sorry you went through that. The Watchtower Society is the stealer of lives and the killer of dreams.

Do you look like the apostate they warned you about?
by Angus Beef inafter waking up and wanting to get out of this nightmare, the word apostate is really bothering me.
if i quitely become inactive, fade away will i just be looked at as "always weak".
i want to scream out how big a fool i was.. and now telling my poor young daughter how wrong i was to bring her up as a jw.

Yes, even today I reek of Satan. Watch out, here she comes. Oh, the horror of being an apostate. Mild, mannered lawyer by day, demon spawn at night. Boo!
BOTR.......were you by chance in the movie The Devil's Advocate?

Guns
by Brother Mike indoes anyone know why people say as jws you can't have guns.
i've asked people at the hall and they say jws aren't supposed to have guns.
i asked them why, and they all say just because we're not supposed to.

In my area.....guns for hunting or self-protection was looked gown upon, but I've been out since 95' so maybe the JW's have loosened up some on the guns.
