so, how's this long weekend going for you?
not too many out witnessing, eh?.
i think most people take the opportunity of visiting family, but, of course, for some of us that's not possible thanks to the borg, so what've you been doing?.
G'day Ozzie, Happy Easter!
when the anthem was played I did my duty as a jw and stayed seated but this is how I felt,
1. Embarrassed
2 Wishing that I was somewhere else.
I like bugs response, I sure felt like an idiot.

from the smallest to the biggest task in the organization, they will call it a privilege.
cleaning the toilet, passing the microphone, saying a prayer in public and so on.
did you consider each task they gave you to be a privilege?
That's why I was glad that I was a female when I was a JW. I'm very shy, despise any type of public speaking and I sure would have hated to have the "privileges" that males have. I could handle the "privilege" of cleaning the toilets, but the "privilege" of public speaking ugh, no thank you!

i'd like to do a little informal survey.
i'm wondering how many pieces of literature are actually distributed to the public.
not how many pieces are reported placed, but actually placed.
I had this fear of Jehovah, so I never fudged my hours or placements. Therefore I was low in both hours and placement and viewed as "spiritually weak". I would get rid of the "rags" by working rural territory and placing them in cottages that were just used on weekends or occasionally (I wouldn't do that territory on weekends, might actually find people there :-) I would get rid of the rest of the "litterature" at Laundromats and not-at-homes. Very rarely could I place "litterature" with a person even for free, I wasn't a very good salesperson, that's why I sucked at field service. If I did place something I very rarely got any money for it. That was hard on our family at the time, we were having a difficult time financially and yet we were expected to pay for and try to sell the WTS crap, which is next to impossible.

how many of you ex-witnesses finally made the decision to leave the org because of this discussion board??
just curious how effective it has been in that regard.. thanks!
I was on my way out when I found this board. JWD helped me to realize that my decision was the right one.
"I've come to realize that the person (jw) has to have some kind of negative personal experience in THEIR OWN LIFE brought on by the org."
That is so true, Cameo!

..right now i have a craving for jellied eels!.
yum!.
these are lovely.
Englishman, that "Toad in the hole" looks really good. I did a search and found some good recipes, I think I'll try to make this. Probably won't taste the same without the brit sausages though.
My Mom makes the best Roast beef and Yorksire pudding. Yummy! I've tried but I can't make it like my Mom does.

it must be the end-of-the-mont-scramble to get time in.
i just got off the phone with a gentleman who, talking approx 1000 words per minute, so that i could almost not understand what he said, identified himself as "navin", and wanted to "share a scripture with me".
he clearly did not know who i am or my history, or my website hobby.
Quotes that was fantastic, thanks for sharing this with us. Who knows you might have planted a few seeds. Especially since the guy has access to the Internet he just must might take a peak at the UN web site.

Very beautiful, Celtic! How nice of you to share these lovely pictures with us. In my area the flowers are just starting to poke though the cold ground.
