Forgiveness is the at once a very difficult thing to do and also one of the greatest things one can do. And with stuff like Tori sings about forgiveness is very far from easy.

Hi RF, as a long-time poster I do respect you, but I find that this:
You post stupid threads that 50 people respond to and you post what you think is important material that noone hardly reads.
is a little bit harsh! If, as Prisca said, you were actually talking about yourself (or other posters in general), then I understand, but don't you think that's a little bit on the aggressive side? If YOU read that about YOURSELF wouldn't you feel down, and think that RF really thought you were a dimwit? I would.

The Fragility of Digital Data & The Impact ...
by SYN indidn't really know which section of the forums to post this in, so i stuck it in "friends"!.
the article linked at the bottom of this post makes some interesting points - according to a study, only .003% of our data isn't stored on some form of computer today.. needless to say, this is a somewhat disturbing statement.
having had loads of experience with computing hardware, one eventually realizes that most of the hardware out there is actually rather unreliable - hard drives, for instance.

Phoney Baloney
by Perfection Seeker inone of my biggest pet peeves of being a witness was when the overseer would come visit, and everyone was sooo nice, sweet to everyone, no clicks, they'd arrive early, stay after & talk, everyone would raise their hands, give "heartfelt" answers, looked nice, sang loud, just the model congregation.
yet, when the overseer wasnt there, people would come late, leave early, not be nice to everyone, blah blah.
i guess to me- if they knew what they "should" be doing, why not do it all the time?

What's the deal with not needing Bethelites?
by blacksheep inas a disclaimer, i am an ex-jw (da'd) for about 15+ years, so i really haven't kept up on what's going on in bethel (come to think of it i wasn't really interested in it when i was a jw!
recently, however, one of my relatives (current jw) commented that, although my nephew had applied to bethel (oh what a privilege!
), he was basically told he wasn't needed at this time because they aren't "mailing out the publications" there like they used to.

Select a world leader
by JanH inlet's say you are challenged to appoint a man who will become the supreme leader of the world.
however, you have only these 3 candidates available: .
candidate 1) he is known to cooperate with corrupt politicians, consults astrologers, has two mistresses, is a chain smoker and drinks around 10 glasses of martini a day.
