yes, please.
well, as you all know, my wife (unstuck) and i are not df or da.. we just stopped attending several years back after my "apostate" online activity was found by a nosey employee of ours while she was working in our office (long story if anyone wants to know - it would have to be another thread).
we never met with any elders - no congregation judicial activity occurred (as we would never consent to do so anyway).
so our policy has been to be the same kind, loving, normal people we have always been.

yes, please.
in the dying light.
i smell the woodsmoke only in memory now and the laughter of my little molly in the dying light.
such days have long gone when the cabin we built nestled cozily under the overhang of many branches.. hewn timbers snugged their fellows with dark mud plugging the ragged gaps and today still hold molly's tiny fingerprints.
Many dawns and twilight curtain-falls have now passed from somewhere north of nowhere.
That particular winter came much too early, catching us unaware.
I had to read it twice, but it reminded me of the squirrel mucking around instead of preparing for winter.
Yes I agree with zeb
Very deep and dark, but well written

Thank you punkofnice
Yes I now look back and chuckle to myself "what were you thinking"
Or is it what were you using to try and think with.
Thanks, humbled
e.g. was walking my dog and saw two ladies trying to load a huge sofa into a car that was not going to fit no matter how hard they tried, got in my ute and loaded it on, took it to their home they were so grateful, what a buzz it was to help.
I did not want it to sound like I was bragging.
Where ever I go I'm on the lookout to help anyone that may need assistance, the little old lady carrying her groceries to the car, just little things.
I don't want arse kissing, just a simple thank you that's it, no more.
The simple "thank you" is my buzz.
There is the feeling of self-worth. I have not changed the world but I've helped a human.
I would like to think when the time comes and maybe I need help in small things there is someone out there that will help.
No JW could afford the time to be just natural and kind—the WT translated our lives. To do anything such as you did for simple goodness sake would be recorded and itemized as “ministry”
EXACTLY!!

I sent a text message to my brother in law and sister...you may remember elder Tony and Nazi Lou
Both "special" "special" pioneers
As follows:
Just a quick note to inform you on Jehovahs-Witness.com you can read all about yourselves as I have posted a thread titled Interview with an Apostate:Nic-MightyV8
You can also read some of the nice comments about yourself.
SUE ME.
hehe no reply
a few years ago i attended the kingdom hall during "easter" as my mother in law asked me to come to a service.
i was hesitant at first, being a christian and a believer in jesus, she told me that jw believe in jesus and to come see for myself.
i finally agreed to go.
If you take the 3 million or so Christians martyred after Christ's death back in the Roman days the 144,000 were full already.
But the jws don't believe they were true Christians.
My guess is your mother-in-law will have a very hard time explaining to you if she even bothers to even try.
She is just as confused as the rest of the jws.
during the great depression in the 1930's people lost their jobs.banks closed, and long lines formed in the streets called "bread lines".people got up early and had to stand in line all day to get a free loaf of bread to feed their family!caution: do not read this story if you have empathy or compassion________ "when things get really bad".
in a cabin in the appalachian mountains, there was a family of four: two children (a boy and a girl), a mom and a dad (who had lost his job at the local sawmill).. things looked really bleak.
the children were afraid they'd starve to death.. "mommy," said the little boy, "are we going to die?".
Again another well-written piece. Thank you, Terry, you sucked me right in.
Wow was not expecting that kind of ending.
You still got the gift of the gab
oh dear, i recently made a comment about an elder being dogmatic.
and one of his best buddies sent me a wt article to help me realign my mind or something.
this is where reality separates from fantasy and fiction.
Agree totally with you punkofnice.
Elders don't even know who Jesus is except around memorial time and absolutely they are not Christ-like.
Elders are more like the Scribes and Pharisees burdening the people with more batshit crazy ideas then you can poke a stick at.
father was raised catholic and converted to the jws in the late '60s.
my dad's side of the family are still catholics and are very nice to me.
my mum's side are all jws and they shun me (boo hoo).. were you a born in or a convert?.
Were you or are you still being shunned by those who didn't leave?
Yes, but fuck them. I don't give a fuck about any of them.
Agree with you wholeheartedly. Well said. I like a person who does not mince words.
Thanks for sharing.
tell us a little about yourself and your family.. born in 1952 second oldest of the family of nine children.
as you see, my family was thoroughly catholic.
dad was in the army.. were you a born in or a convert?.
Wow that was spellbinding, really enjoyed reading it.
Thank you so much for sharing.
