  a 2000-year-old-plus religion cannot survive for much longer!

  The never ending fullfullment of bible prophecy keeps the loyal ones going. Now before you beat me up over that allow me to explain- They do talk about the "great falling away" = diminishing numbers in the org to them only fullfills that- even if "NEW LIGHT" must be added.

  The dogma is intensely based on small numbers gaining life- though they strive to save all. They also harp on how god's people will be persacuted more and more as the "great tribulation" comes into full force.

  For the faithful JW all the things that they are seeing only re-enforces thier faith- regardless of what they accept as human failures of the direction of the GB.

  Spanner I agree wholeheartedly or I would not be here! As great an impact as it has been I just do not believe that the WTBTS is anywhere near "falling" due to this.

  You did ask how much longer could the WT stand.

  OUt of billions of people alive today on the face of the earth these site may be viewed by a few thousand. Out of millions of JWs on earth the percentage is very small I am sure in those ranks. Living here, on these ex jw boards , daily reading the comments of a few hundred at best it may seem to us that the impact is great.

  The reality is not so dramatic IMHO-

  Healing.....

  as i look back at my life i realize that i have said and done many stupid and hurtful things.

  sometimes in anger, sometimes i've allowed "buttons" to be pushed that allowed me to turn ugly.

  sometimes i have allowed my sensitivities to overcome reasonable responses.

  As I look back at my life I realize that I have said and done many stupid and hurtful things. Sometimes in anger, sometimes I've allowed "buttons" to be pushed that allowed me to turn ugly. Sometimes I have allowed my sensitivities to overcome reasonable responses.

  I have often used the quote: "Be the change you wish to see in the world". Then I look in the mirror and see how miserably I have failed in following my own advise.

  The realization sets in that ones words become meaningless when not backed up by example. Ones criticisms fall on deaf ears when one is engaged in ignorant conduct. I have failed myself and my friends in both cases.

  I resolve to improve upon my weaknesses and strive to be a more positive influence on all whom I may come in contact with. Though the life we live today is so short and time is a fleeting thing I have learned that each and every action and word that I use can have a powerful influence on others. With a single word I can bring pain and hurt. With another simple word I can help heal and comfort.

  I thank all here for enduring my words as I grow and heal. I appreciate the loving words of comfort and the heart wrenching experiences that have been shared here and at times have brought tears to my eyes. I am learning to find more humor in our sad experiences. And most of all I am learning to love all- even as we engage in heated discussions over dif veiwpoints.

  i know there are soo many new people on this board in the past year or so, and i haven't been posting a whole lot lately i've been busy with school and what not, but i did want to kind of give a bit of an update and hopefully some encouragement for those that are in the process of leaving the borg, and have left friends and family behind.

  "we would rather have a job we really enjoyed than one that was high paying" Last year my biz grossed over one million dollars- not bad for a mop jocky. People so eagerly class cerain jobs, careers as demeaning or low paying or beneath them. I am greatful that I have work that is honest and pays well- I think it a shame that the world is full of snobs who want to believe that others "did not have opportunity to better themselves". though from my experience most of these sorts live in the USA- sadly enough.

  Really going out now to scrub my building along with 25 employees- but still scrubbing and providing a much needed service to the snobs LOL

  Well Ok then- I am going to go scrub on in my elder like position as janitor. BTW I chose this career because I do enjoy it. You are wlcome to visit my web site. I just never thought of my career as being any way connected to a JW thing. It paid my way through college and I chose to keep this work because it sure beats the hell out of anything offered in the coporate world IMHO.

  The "mop jocky" humbly lowers head and walks out to clean.........

  "they haven't the opportunity or desire to better themselves" Better oneself? What a shitty comment to make. I live in a $225.000 home and am bettered if you will. And, yes, I am going out tonight and clean a building! And you dare insunuate that I need to better myself- that in some way the work I choose to do is demeaning?   So valis what is wrong with aspiring to do good honest labor? I knew many more jw elders who were not janitors than I did who were. Please read what I posted aboiut my now deceased friend Clive-

  Any work that one chooses- regardless of their reason- as long as it is honest and productive- I would not knock it.

  Songwriter Clive Westlake died Wednesday of a heart attack at his home in Pegram, Tenn., just west of Nashville. He was sixty-seven. The Welsh-born Westlake wrote songs for Elvis Presley, the Hollies, Dusty Springfield and Tom Jones among many others. Westlake studied at London's Royal Academy of Music and worked at Carlin Music in the city before moving to Nashville in 1980 . . .

  Clive Westlake was never a JW. In fact Clive never had much of anything to do with religion. Interstingly enough the day Clive died he had just finfished cleaning my house. Clive was a friend and employee. After so much success in life this is what "he looked forward to.
