the jehovah witnesses are a religion, and that's what they should talk about.
why do they have to talk about so much more than religion.
after all, they aren't doctors or engineers, chemists, they are bible students.. i never understood why they published the awake magazine.

One I can think of is Butterknife Of Jah - comes across as very arrogant. Many JW's do love a good argument, b/c they have the "truth" burned in their brain. That's what happens of years and years of hearing the same old stuff.
in an upcoming watchtower study article about youth's, it is brought out that young witnesses never hesitate to acknowledge the fact they are " one of jehovah's witnesses" when asked.
and to be prepared to "make a defense" to anyone asking the reason behind their faith.
and also are admonished (witnessism) to not ever have a "fear of man".
Excellent insight! People in the religion are afraid of man - afraid of how they will be disfellowshipped. Would Jesus have cared if he was disfellowshiped if he had the truth? No.
honestly: i perceive a lot of jw-thinking in this forum, primarily from those of us who are exjw.. the us/them mentality.
right/wrong, black/white, everything the wts said and did must be wrong.
also, active jws that post here are typically characterized as idiots, or just plain ignored.. i've not come this far, just to fall back into the same judgmental attitudes in which i was raised.. don't take me wrong; i certainly believe in calling a spade a spade.

hi all just visiting to give you all a push in the right direction...i'm chris from italy and came across this site by chance and was shocked to see so many apostates that were once witnesses..come on you know that jehovah is our loving god and that your only saying these things to justify your descions to break away from the word of god.babylon the great is has almost fallen!

Thanks for your concern. However, after researching BOTH SIDES of the story I am pretty much happy the way that I am. Until you start to do some research on the other side of witnesses, as indicated in the bible to "seek out" the truth, you will not understand. It is my hope that you rebel against the elders and read about all the sexual abuse and coverups, which many here have been through and personally devastated by.

How about talking Elder Ken, and submissive wife Barbie. They would only speak like, "Sister Edwards is watching the Simpsons, I heard from Sister Johnson who heard it from sister Johannesburg, who heard it from a group six congregations away... she's bad assosiation now..."
Elder Ken would say, "Let's keep the congregation clean..." "only missionary, honey," "It's Saturday night, let's pre-study our watchtowers so we can be the ones with the most comments on Sunday..."
my younger son and i decided to go for a walk this afternoon and, as always, we had to pass the house of an elder, which is on the corner of our cul-de-sac.
occasionally, i'd bump into the elder's wife and she say a nervous "hello!

You should have gone up to her and gave her a big hug, and said how much you loved her, and how much her support means to her to get you back to meetings.

in short, the kingdom hall i went to as child and teen, is being sold to a church.
my mother (still active) informed me of this.
In a place I used to live... (don't want to say where), they did the sam ething - sold it to another religious group, and they used it for their church. Nobody blinked, and I still don't see anything wrong with it... it's only a building. What else is going to go in there?
i guess that some parts to the cultish religion are hard to shake off.
simply put, i still worry that maybe i'm wrong.
(i still wouldn't want to live in a new world with those idiots, even if they were right).

seems president bush is somewhat peeved that canada is considering legalizing small amounts of marijuana............those who have small amounts would no longer face jail time, but it would basically be treated as a traffice ticket.
hmmmmmm.............not sure what i think about this.
pot stinks to high heaven (no pun intended) and i don't want someone blowing it in my face...........any thoughts?

The U.S. is insisting that this will hinder trade relations with Canada - cramming their policy down our throat, in other words. They are none-too-happy with this policy, but we have the right to decide for ourselves. Hmmm.... Being from Canada, I can give an opinion, I guess...
Mariguana, in small quantities, is no worse for you than alcohol. Basic fact. It is people who smoke this stuff every day that are the problem - they become "burn victims". You can spot them 66 miles away. (for my Canadian Brothers, that's 145.2658974566 Km's). The gov't is not "legalizing" it, just "decriminalizing" it. That means that you are not considered a criminal if you have enough just for personal use.
Where does one draw the line, though? What about people who abuse it and smoke it each and every day? That is what I can't get over........ and its hard for me to say yes to something like this, even though I smoke it maybe twice a year, and still love it.
Basically, I'm on the fence again.
